Let me see in times of boredom and loneliness The presence of your humor. Through out my amusing journey from lifein-time Into life-in eternity – Help me laugh! [God] will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips With shouts of joy. (Job 8.21)

Peace,

God’s Gift of Laughter
Pastor John
There are times we get so caught up in things we are dealing with in life, we forget about God’s wonderful gift of laughter. The following devotion is from a devotional book for grandparents. [The book is written by Theresa Cotter. DIVINE COMEDIAN God of Surprises, Maker of ducks and monkeys and kangaroos and koalas, Designer of galaxies Inventor of sex, You are the Divine Incognito – And you never cease to astound me! And so, Comedian Most Holy, In this comic-tragedy called life, Help me laugh. Enable me to envision Beyond the present distractions To your eternal joy.

Remember the Sunday when Pr. John introduced the little blue marble for the children during worship? His idea was submitted to a magazine, “Crossways International” and here is an article that appeared as a result of the “little blue marble with a large message”.

Small in size – Large in message
A little blue marble spinning with a big worldly image Several share with us the power of a vivid teaching aid that inspires people to ponder the questions, “Where do you live?” and “Who is my neighbor?” ************ Pastor John Martinson of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ulen, Minnesota, says, “Kids love the earth marble – not only because it is a marble, but also because it is an excellent visual reminder to them that we all live on the same planet where there are no limits to God‟s love. I have given out large quantities of these marbles to kids and their teachers during our Sunday morning kids‟ sermons. One child, upon receiving the marble, replied with the song lyrics, „He has the whole world in His hands.‟ “There is no age-limit for the use of these marbles. I have seen the marbles taped to the tops of computers, placed in the pencil section of a desk drawer, tucked in a pocket, and used in many other ways as a person‟s visible reminder of God‟s universal love!” Thank you, pr. John…you are now famous!
