Followed with an evening meal at the La Encina show cooking buffet restaurant. Guests staying on La Torre Golf Resort are also able to use the facilities at Polaris World Mar Menor Golf Resort. Mar Menor Golf Resort has a 9 hole golf course and golf facilities, spa, swimming pools, restaurants & bars. Mar Menor Golf Resort is approximately 15 minutes from La Torre Golf Resort.

Resort Restaurants & Bars The resort has a range of bars & restaurants Encina Buffet- Fine cuisine, in a privileged location next to the lake, this restaurant offers a show cooking kitchen which prepares a wide range of meat, fish and other delicacies. The deserts are spectacular. Normally offer ‘All you can eat’ Buffet style. Acacia Italia- authentic Italian cuisine, it features pizza, pastas, risottos and seafood dishes, try the mussels, sea bass and polish off with tiramisu, this is set overlooking the hotel lake and golf course, great for ‘al fresco’ dining. Limonero Espanya-This two-storey restaurant specialising in rice dishes overlooks the lake & golf course and offers a variety of authentic Spanish rice/paella dishes cooked on an open fire. Bamboo Bar- offers the best outside seating areas with sofas and swimming pool to enjoy cocktails in the sun. Tapas- located opposite Limonero, offers good local tapas and good selection of beers and wine. Try calamares, Spanish omelette, and paellas. The Clover- is a warm and friendly Irish bar, that not only serves a wide variety of drinks but also serves a number of snacks and light meals. Wood House Bar- has plenty of comfortable seating inside and outside to admire the golf and resort views, serves tapas as well. Pino´s Bar- is ideal for a light snack & drink with plenty of comfortable seating inside and outside to admire the golf views. At the weekends the bar plays host to live music. Local restaurants Other restaurants locally that are well worth a drive off resort for are as follows, all of these are within 15 mins drive. Most of these have a menu/leaflet with further details within the villa brochure actually held in the villa. ‘Valle del Sol’- located underneath the bridge as you turn off for the resort. Very authentic Spanish restaurant, plenty of dishes on offer, just remember your phrase book as it is very rustic Spanish. ‘Jaipur Palace’- if you fancy your curries head here, out of the resort go right and enter onto the service road, bit bumpy but a quick way of getting onto the Business estate. The curry house is a deep red colour, with big elephant on the side, hard to miss really. Advise booking. Los Alcazares promenade- this is an area filled with restaurants on both sides, great in the summer with superb atmosphere and everyone wanting al fresco dining. There is a great selection here, choose between various Indians, Asian/Japanese cuisine (Cocina Asiatica-Run), English at Penny Farthing (English ales & beers). International cuisine can be found at both La Diva and one of our favourites Bayside. At the end of the promenade is Angela’s Italian restaurant, great place for either lunch or dinner, highly recommending the Lasagne!! After Angela’s cross the road and take a pleasant walk along the block paved promenade of the beach, fronting the Mar Menor.

Coastal/Beach 15-20 minutes drive to the beach at Los Alcazares (see restaurant section as well), also known as the Costa Calida. The town sits on the western shore of the Mar Menor, a saltwater lagoon separated from the open sea by a 22 kilometre long strip of land called La Manga/The Strip. The warm and shallow water of the Mar Menor provides a paradise for sun worshippers and water sports enthusiasts (mainly windsurfing). It has a great promenade and places to eat along the beach, & water sports available. Or the same distance just the opposite direction on the AP-7, San Pedro del Pinatar (meaning St. Peter of the Pine Woods) is situated in an ideal spot on the Mediterranean coast and just a few minutes from the Northern shores of the Mar Menor. The popular suburb of Lo Pagan has seen some development in recent years; here you will find a lengthy beachfront, marina and promenade. For both beaches exit the resort and enter onto the C3319 as if you were heading back to the airport, at the end of the C3319 bear right onto the AP-7 south for Los Alcazares, or continue to then bear right onto the slip road for the AP-7 north for San Pedro del Pinatar. Water parks

There are 3 water parks within reasonable driving distance, the largest of which is Aqualandia near Benidorm on the Costa Blanca (a 1 hour 30 mins drive north along the A7 motorway). Equally good fun is the (much closer) Aquapolis at Torrevieja Approx 30 minutes and the new Water park/Zoo just past Murcia City centre Approx 30 minutes drive

Things to do & places to see A Theme Park is approximately 1 hour 30 mins drive from the resort, and is Spain's largest, ‘Terra Mítica’ (a Paramount Park) is located on the outskirts of Benidorm, in Finestrat. There are few queues and plenty of rides, making this a great day out for the whole family. There is plenty of car parking, along with restaurants, bars. It is open from the end of March through to end of September, plus peak times in October, November and December. Take the A7 motorway north and stay on it until you pass Villajoyosa. There is a direct turnoff for Terra Mítica a couple of minutes farther on, but please be aware the A7 is a toll road, so have some change spare.

Golf Guests have access to the resort’s 18-hole par 68 golf course on La Torre, designed by Jack Nicklaus, along with another 3 Polaris Golf courses (Mar Menor, El Valle & Hacienda). In time Polaris have plans for total of 9 courses. There are other public courses in the area including Torre Pacheco, La Finca and Las Ramblas or the famous La Manga Golf Resort is 40mins drive but worth the visit. Please refer to Brochure in villa for further details of dress code and prices, golf buggies and club hire are also available, along with fully stocked Golf shop at the clubhouse. Murcia The capital of a thinly populated province of the same name, the city of Murcia has a population of 358,000 people. It is situated just 15 minutes drive from the resort, making for an ideal day trip. Often described as one of the most beautiful and historic cities in the country Murcia. It was re-conquered by native Spaniards in 1243 and went on to prosper. It is this good fortune that funded much of the splendour seen today, from the magnificent baroque cathedral, to urban palaces and churches. Murcia is a university city, and a number of lively bars and restaurants can be found in the vicinity of the university compound. As with many Spanish towns and cities Murcia does come alive at night. All things considered Murcia is definitely worth a visit, whether by day or by night. It has much to offer its visitors, though equally a good place to have lunch, do some shopping or take a leisurely stroll. Try our much visited favourite, a restaurant/café situated behind the right side of the main Cathedral in the smaller square called ‘Cocina de Vives’, very reasonable prices and great paellas, and plenty of food. Cabo de Palos Cabo de Palos is a small Murcian village set beside the sea. Dwarfed by its neighbours La Manga and Cartagena, this is a beautiful fishing village, situated around a great harbour, with a promenade boasting some very fine fish restaurants. On Sundays it hosts a great outdoor market, where you can buy freshly spit-roasted cooked chickens, along with all normal market goods on offer. It can be reached by exiting C3319 onto the AP-7 south, for 30 mins. And follow signs towards La Manga. Continue past La Manga until you reach the sign for Cabo de Palos, the harbour is close by.
