CVX Series valves meet the demand for dependable, well-controlled steam temperature and pressure conditions in power generation, industrial processes, and heating applications. These valves can simultaneously reduce steam pressure and temperature to levels most efficient for the application. Typical installations include utility applications for turbine bypass and startup, as well as conditioning of steam for space heating and process applications to heat product or equipment. These valves offer... S Combined pressure and temperature control in a single valve S Precise spraywater regulation for uniform and instantaneous temperature control over full range of steam flow S Inherent rangeability of 50:1 S Precise control of steam temperature to within 4 to 7_C or 7 to 10_F of saturation S Tight shutoff, ANSI Class IV is standard with Class V optional S Low noise levels and an enhanced low noise diffuser philosophy that eliminates noise generated by recirculated and expanded flow Actuators...These valves normally use Type 585C and 585CR piston actuators or Type 470 piston actuators. Steam Cooler, Sparger, and Options
Design CVX-T Steam Cooler The steam cooler is essentially the same as the outlet section of the CVX-C valve and is normally used where a separation of the pressure reduction (CVX-P) and desuperheating functions is required. The cooler is equipped with a spraywater manifold to provide cooling to the steam. The cooler section can accommodate a silencer. As the steam enters the cooler section, it passes through a diffuser designed to decrease steam pressure energy in a controlled-velocity expansion. Design CVX-S Steam Sparger The steam sparger is a diffuser that is used when further pressure reduction is required downstream of a valve. It can also provide a constant backpressure to the valve. It is a fixed, multiple-orifice device that inserts into the piping. Other Optional Features Whisper Flowt Trim...This specialized noise attenuation trim is available for use in the Design CVX-C and CVX-P valves. Steam-Assisted Desuperheating Spraying...This design uses the energy of the high temperature and pressure steam to assist with the atomization and mixing of the spraywater injected in the low pressure outlet section. This is useful for systems operating regularly at low flow levels. Electro-hydraulic System for Turbine Bypass...This valve actuation system allows for rapid valve response in critical turbine bypass applications. Stop Valve for Turbine Bypass Service (FSV)...This specialized stop service valve is designed for usage on turbine bypass applications for providing the critical shutoff of steam to the high or low pressure steam conditioning valve. Drain and Warm-up Bypass Connections...When necessary these optional connections can be included for ease of job-site installation.
