I hope that all who attended the Hometown Heroes Volunteer and Community Member
Recognition Event on Thursday, October 15th enjoyed the evening. Congratulations to
our 2009 Blood Services Pacesetter Award Winners: Mimi Yong, Mary Rudy, and Dean
Behrend, and to Claire Geyer who was nominated on behalf of both our Blood and
Disaster departments and chosen to receive the “Everyday Hero” Chapter Award. Visit

You all have really been stepping it up in the last few months. We’ve had 100%
volunteer coverage for the past four months, and that is all thanks to your commitment
to the program! I realize that schedules get crazy around the Holidays, but December
is going to be another very busy month. Anything you can do to help us to continue to
fully cover every drive would be greatly appreciated!
I am thankful for my dedicated volunteers, who always come through!
