Exhibit Design Firm Zig Zibit Will Support the St. Baldrick’s Foundation Cancer Fundraiser for the 7th
Online PR News – 24-February-2014 – On Saturday, March 1, 2014, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation will host
its annual event to raise money for pediatric cancer research. In keeping with tradition, volunteers will shave
their heads to raise money and promote awareness of the charity. The Zig Zibit team will be participating; six
to eight team members are expected to shave their heads in support of the event, which will take place from
10:00am-5:00pm at The Factory in Wake Forest, NC.
Zig Zibit aims to raise $150,000 for St. Baldrick’s this year. If that goal is reached, Zig Zibit will have raised
over half a million dollars for St. Baldrick’s since 2008. Over 300 people attended last year’s event, raising
“Childhood cancer impacts families everywhere,” says Zig Zibit President and CEO Jake Merzigian. “We want
to show these children and their families that they are not alone.” Cancer is the number one cause of death
by disease for children in America today.
The St. Baldrick's Foundation has been operating since 2000. Founders John Bender, Tim Kenny, and Enda
McDonnell started shaving their heads to raise donations at an annual St. Patrick’s Day party as a way to
give back to the community in return for their success in business. Volunteers across the country, sponsored
by family and friends, shave their heads to show support for pediatric oncology patients, who typically lose
their hair during treatment. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation makes grants to research organizations, medical
institutions, and awards Fellow and Scholar awards.
To date, the Foundation has raised over $100 million to help find a cure for childhood cancer.
