Don’t Get Banned

Here are some reasons people get banned from Twitter. 1. People are seen as spammers by the Twitter Community. a. If you only send tweets with links and not engaging the Twitter Community. b. Sending @replies with links unsolicited, meaning people didn’t ask to receive a link directly in their public stream. c. Sending @replies with links to people you aren’t following and/or don’t know and have never engaged on Twitter before. 2. Tweeting to much within a short period of time. While I don’t know the exact ratio of tweets to minutes, you have to tweet a great deal to get banned or put in Twitter Timeout/Jail. I can’t prove this one, but Twitter may limit the amount of tweets within a relatively short time frame for new Twitter Accounts, again this is only a hunch. This may be done to decrease the amount of spam used by new accounts. 3. If you get reported as a spammer by enough people on Twitter your account may be subject to getting banned. 4. If you get blocked by enough people within a relatively short time frame Twitter may investigate your account and ban you.

5. Some people use auto-tweet and send to many tweets in a short time period causing their account to look like spam and WHAMO!!! your WHAMO!!! account could get banned. 6. You look like a spammer if you send the same @reply message to a number of people consecutively. This is often done by unknowing newbie’s to Twitter and recording artist seeking fame and fortune. At the end of the day you typically will not get banned or put on Twitter Timeout/Jail when you add value and engage the community (your followers and those you follow).
