Often parents/guardians want to help their student with their Post High School Plan, but they are unsure of what to
do. Here are some things you can do to help your 11th grade student make his/her dreams a reality.
The student information form (SIF) is a document that helps students organize important information that x x x x x

Fall of the 12th grade year is a busy time. Students interested in going to college will have an advantage x x
Visit colleges of interest if they visit schools before high school starts in September. Simply contact colleges to find out about
their summer visitation programs.
Students interested in applying for scholarships should complete community service prior to applying. x x x x x
Do volunteer work Most scholarship organizations want to see students who are engaged in their community. Service is

If a student is going to play collegiate sports, he/she must fill out the clearinghouse paperwork. x x
Start NCAA Clearinghouse Understanding these requirements while still in high school makes applying for colleges much easier.
Students going to the military need to find out where and when they can take the ASVAB, a requirement x
