Ascend Test Plan
Modules Elements Features
Testing Notes (please insert rows when necessary)
In the top navigation pane, when I navigate horizontally through the modules, the Survey Builder module's
gray box is taking up the entirety of the module area
In the top navigation pane, when holding the mouse over the "Crm" bar, a drop down menu appears
(Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Documents. Next header has Reports: Setup). However, after moving
the mouse away from the drop down menu, the menu does not disappear. This seems to happen
periodically and not every time the mouse is over the Crm bar.
The Month Calendar link is not accessing the Month Calendar (no new screen appears after I click it)
Perhaps not make Birthdays an all day event… It's like saying that we have a celebration planned for the
whole day… and it increases the size of the calendar to show the whole day, which is unnecessary. Can you
make it a feature of the day instead of imbedding the birthday in that day's schedule?
The icons for birthdays are not showing up as graphics in the calendar.
Finish is misspelled when creating a new calendar entry. In the system it's spelled Finnish.
There is no Cancel to get you out of the New Calndar Entry input screens (what if you clikced on a calendar
time slot on accident? You'd have to go through all the steps just to get back to where you needed to be.) I
tried to click Back on my Browser, and I got an error message. I tried to Click Dashboard in the left navigation
pane, and I got an error message. I tried to click the other 5 modules (Project Management , Human
Resources, Idea Center, Surveys, and Communications) and they were all unresponsive. The only way to get
out of this screen without setting up a new event is to click on another module in the top pane and then
navigate back to the Dashboard from the other module.
After I created a new entry and double-clicked on it from the calendar, I was going through the pages of the
entry (event info, date and time, location, and settings). When I got to location, the system only saved the
Location and Phone number, not Address (Line 1), Address (Line 2), City, State, Zip, or Country.
The Home link in the top pane gives me a Server Error message "Object reference not set to an instance of
the object." I tried to get back Home by clicking on My Account and then clicking on the Dashboard, but I still
getting the error message. Right now, if I navigate away from the Dashboard, the only way I can get back is to
logout and signback in so I can see the dashboard at signin.
When I logged out and went to log back in, I got the error message "Object reference not set to an instance of
an object" I made sure it wasn't just an incorrect password by putting bad passwords in. The login screen just
refreshed, keeping my user name. It's only when I put the correct password, then I get the error message. So
I can't get back in.
When creating a new event for the Calendar, after clicking in the text area underneath the formatting
toolbars, there is no blinking cursor. The blinking cursor only appears after you start entering text. A Blinking
cursor helps identify when you have correctly selected the text area.
When creating a new event for the Calendar, on the "Date and Time" screen, it would be helpful if when you
clicked on the calendar today's date was already highlighted. Perhaps designated by an alternate color
around the date.
I have attempted to create two events, and neither of them have posted to the calendar. On the second
occasion, the "processing" pointer remained active until I clicked home. When I clicked on home the "Server
Error in '/Core' Application" error came up and I was unable to log back in.
On the screen that first appears when you enter the Administration module, it shows our client's
information. The word "Client" is a bit confusing, though. RGP is F3 technologies' client, but as a user of the
system, we are not our own client. Maybe you could change Client to Company, to make it a little clearer as
to what they are seeing.
Also, related to the above comment, on that first screen, there is a link to Edit Client. That link is
unresponsive when clicked. It says it's processing, but nothing happens. (By the way, I reallyy like that you've
made the Processing thing pop up by the mouse arrow as opposed to the Loading bar in the top right corner.
It's very nice.)
When I Select a group from the main employee list. It takes me to the Edit page (as you would see when
creating anew group), but there is no Cancel button to get me out of there without saving anything. I could
make a mistake and not want to save it, but I'm forced to save if I want to exit the screen.
On the Billing Address and Contact Address of the View Client screen, it looks like the state is defaulting to
the first one in the list, AK.
I was under the impression that RGP would have the Issue Tracker in Ascend, but it looks like it's been turned
off, according to the Options box in the View Client screen.
On the main User list, when I clicked Edit for a user, I typed in a password. Then selected Update. No
password appeared in the row where I just entered it. But I can see that I actually did change the password
when I Select that user to view. Perhaps instead of having that column blank in the main list, there could be
astericks in the column to signify to the user that a password does exist. And to let them know that when
they edit this user, you're changing that existing password instead of creating one.
I Select a user from the main user list then, then I choose to Edit that user. Once I'm in the Edit User screen, I
click Cancel to get out, and an error message pops up: "The file '/Core/Administration/Controls/.ascx' does
not exist." Now I can't get out unless I Save. I get this error message no matter what user I'm trying to edit
and cancel out of.
When I created a new user, I made the user name and password the same thing: testuser. Is there complexity
in Ascend? I also tried on with just "test" as the user name and password & it let me create it.
On the main page for managing groups, the group list could perhaps be in alphabetical orer for ease of use.
When I create a new group, the window to see the Available Users names is too small and I can't see the
whole name. This could be a problem with the Indian names especially. Likewise, the box for Selected Users
is the same size and is too small to see an employee's full name.
When I was in the Communication Administrators screen, I clicked on the right blue arrow in the top
navigation pane to show more modules, and the Users box on the current screen for Comm Admins went
blank and the entries and format disappeared. See Screenshot.
I was in KS Users and I deleted a user. Once the screen refreshed, the Users box to display permissions
disappeared, as it did in the Communication Admin instance as described above. So it seems whenever the
page refreshed is the Administration module, that box disappears.
The graphic icon for the User box (as referenced in the above 2 comments) is not visible.
The Manage Employees list perhaps should be in alphabetical order for ease of use.
I clicked on Websites in the left navigation pane and it brought me to the Edit Website Info screen. I tried to
Cancel out of it, and an error message popped up: "The file '/Core/Cms/Controls/.ascx' does not exist."
Additionally, the message within the error message box is not conforming the box boundaries. Text is
spilling over the sides of the box. See screenshot.
