Chester County PA real estate agent Don Dowd has been through several ups and downs in the market. As
we begin 2014, Dowd offers some valuable insights for home sellers during the upcoming year.

Online PR News – 27-December-2013 – If you want to sell your home in Chester County PA in 2014, realtor
Don Dowd has some insights that will be helpful. Dowd has been one of the leading real estate agents in the
area for the past several years. During that time, he has consistently placed in the top 5 out of over 3200
RE/MAX agents in Delaware and Pennsylvania.

A few years ago, during the worst real estate market since the Great Depression, Dowd was consistently
toward the top in home sales by using ‘out of the box’ strategies that most area realtors had not employed.
These include:

• Luxury Homes & Estates Magazine Listings (front and back cover)
• Distinctive Homes Magazine Listings
• Chester County Life Magazine Listings
• Home Décor & Ideas Magazine Listings
• The Real Estate Book Listings
• Strategic Internet & Email Blasts
• YouTube Video Blasts
• Broker’s Only Cocktail Party-style Open Houses
• Many more…

Dowd is continually coming up with creative ways to market his clients’ homes, and as primarily a seller’s
agent, he has particular expertise in helping home sellers prepare themselves to get their houses sold for top
dollar in as little time as possible, regardless of the market conditions.

According to Dowd, selling a home in Delaware County, Chester County, or Montgomery County is not as
seasonal as it once was. With the Internet, people who want to buy a couple months out are already
shopping online during the holidays and into the early part of the New Year.

“The winter months can be somewhat of a sleeper market,” Dowd says. “Competition is far lower, and the
buyers out there this time of the year are more targeted. And since people often begin shopping on the web
several weeks before buying, it’s good to have your listing out there as soon as you know for sure you want
to sell.”

As 2014 begins, Dowd is more optimistic than he has been in several years.

“Inventories are still very low, prices continue to be on the upswing, and interest rates remain at historic lows.
This all points to a good year in 2014 for home sellers,” Dowd continues. “But even though conditions are
more favorable for sellers, proper preparation is still important to capitalize on the strong market.”

For those looking to get in on the early Spring rush, Dowd says the time to prepare is now.

“If you want to have your home properly positioned for the early Spring market, it is important to have your
home listed by the end of January or early February at the latest. But not all homes are in top selling
condition. This is why it’s important to talk with a realtor by mid-January, because there may be some repairs
needed, de-cluttering, and other things necessary to make your home stand out from the crowd. This type of
preparation may require a good 2-4 weeks.”

For home sellers that are prepared and ready to capitalize, 2014 is shaping up to be a happy New Year.
