PRESBYTERY W LL MEET FOR ORD NARY BUS NESS THEREAFTER AT 8 00PM. 3...AD HOC COMMITTEE ON MEMBERSHIP OF STANDING COMMITTEES The Business Committee recommends that Presbytery appoint an Ad Hoc Committee to arrange the membership of Standing Committees for the year 2009-10 and bring forward its recommendations to the June Meeting of Presbytery. The Business Committee recommends that the membership be as follows:- The Convenor of the Business Committee, The Presbytery Clerk, The Moderator Designate, and Mr H W Wilkinson. Presbytery appoints to the Ad Hoc Committee on Membership of Presbytery Committees as follows:The Convenor of the Business Committee, The Clerk, The Moderator Designate, and Mr H Wilkinson. 4. WORLD MISSION Mr M G Ronaldson having completed five years service as it’s Convenor has indicated his wish to step down. The Business Committee recommends that the Rev E Ogston be appointed as World Mission Convenor. 1. Presbytery appoints Rev E Ogston as Convenor of Presbytery World Mission Committee. 2. Presbytery thanks Mr MG Ronaldson for his service as Convenor of World Mission Committee over the last five years. 5. MODERATOR’S RECEPTION Invitations have been sent out in respect of the Moderator’s Reception on 5 Halls. th June 2009 in Crown Church 1.

SAFEGUARDIING IISSUES, II.E.TRAIINING OF CO--ORDINATORS AND VOLUNTEERS HAS BEEN ABLY SAFEGUARD NG SSUES, .E. TRA NING OF CO ORDINATORS AND VOLUNTEERS HAS BEEN ABLY CARRIIED OUT BY MRS JJOY GIILLIES, AND A LAPTOP AND PROJJECTOR WAS PURCHASED FOR HER USE CARR ED OUT BY MRS OY G LLIES, AND A LAPTOP AND PRO ECTOR WAS PURCHASED FOR HER USE AT A COST OF £900.. MRS MORAG MCCALLUM ATTENDED THE IINSPECTIONOF RECORDS WIITH AT A COST OF £900 MRS MORAG MCCALLUM ATTENDED THE NSPECTION OF RECORDS W TH MYSELF AND WE APPRECIIATED THE IIMPROVED RECORD KEEPIING. TWENTY FOUR TEACHERS MRS PAULA BAKER PAR SH ASS STANT AT ELG N H GH CHURCH TWENTY FOUR TEACHERS ATTENDED FROM TEN CHURCHES IIN PRESBYTERY,, AT A COST OF £113.. ATTENDED FROM TEN CHURCHES N PRESBYTERY AT A COST OF £113 We also held an Elder Training Event, led by Rev Robin McAlpine, Development Officer for Elder Training. Twenty three elders attended, but all from only four churches in Presbytery. This was a disappointing response, but those attending appreciated the training and the cost to Presbytery will be £60. AT THE REQUEST OF CONGREGATIIONS, WHOSE MEMBERS CATER FROM THEIIR CHURCH KIITCHENS, AT THE REQUEST OF CONGREGAT ONS, WHOSE MEMBERS CATER FROM THE R CHURCH K TCHENS, WE ARRANGED TRAIINING TO GAIIN THE ELEMENTARY FOOD HYGIIENE CERTIIFICATE, A NECESSARY WE ARRANGED TRA NING TO GA N THE ELEMENTARY FOOD HYG ENE CERT FICATE, A NECESSARY REQUIIREMENT TO MAIINTAIN HIIGH STANDARDS OF HYGIIENE. II AM DELIIGHTEDTO SAY THAT TO REQU REMENT TO MA NTAIN H GH STANDARDS OF HYG ENE. AM DEL GHTED TO SAY THAT TO DATE 27 FOLK FROM YOUR CONGREGATIIONS HAVE PASSED AND GAIINED THEIIR CERTIIFICATE. TEN ONS HAVE PASSED AND GA NED THE R CERT FICATE. TEN DATE 27 FOLK FROM YOUR CONGREGAT CHURCHES HAVE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF THIIS TRAIINING AND WE WIILL ARRANGE ONE FURTHER CHURCHES HAVE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF TH S TRA NING AND WE W LL ARRANGE ONE FURTHER DAY IIN THE AUTUMN FOR THOSE UNABLE TO ATTEND OUR LAST TWO SESSIIONS. ON TUESDAY 24 TH MARCH 2009 THE WORLD HEALTH MPLEMENTED SOUND POL CIES. ON TUESDAY 24 MARCH 2009 THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIISATION SAIID THAT THE NUMBER OF CHOLERA CASES HAD ALMOST HALVED IIN THE ORGAN SATION SA D THAT THE NUMBER OF CHOLERA CASES HAD ALMOST HALVED N THE PAST WEEK.. PAST WEEK th Nepal – March 2009 saw the 55 anniversary of the United Mission to Nepal (a partner organisation of the Church of Scotland). The occasion was celebrated with the launch of a new Web site and the cutting of a cake at their headquarters at Kathmandu.
