					Job Description


Title              EMDP Graduate Intern (Academy)

Reports to         EMDP Academy Manager

Location           EMDP head office, Horsham, West Sussex

Contractual        Full time (40 hours per week) for a period of 12 months
Status



Job Purpose               Responsible for supporting the administration and development of the EMD
                          Academy and the general support of all areas of EMDP.

                          This role will have a focus on the Academy and the successful candidate will
                          also have the opportunity to work across other areas of EMDP to get valuable
                          experience of a national governing body and of the sector as a whole.


Key Tasks and            To support the administration of the EMD Academy including:
Responsibilities             o Course administration & promotion
                             o Communication with prospects
                             o Student registration & certification

                         To support the development of the EMD Academy including
                             o Input into the Qualifications Development Strategy
                             o Marketing & promotion activities
                             o Teacher tracking & retention

                         To undertake other administration and support duties across EMDP as
                          required

                         To be actively involved in promoting EMD via social media and other
                          appropriate channels

                         To contribute to accurate and timely collection of relevant data and its input
                          into EMDP KPI reporting systems

                         To attend meetings and events as appropriate on behalf of EMDP

                         To support the EMDP events programme and any relevant projects as
                          required

                         Any other relevant task commensurate with the level of the role and as
                          requested by your line manager or Chief Executive.

EMDP Graduate Intern Person Specification

Qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills & attributes needed for the role

                                                                            Essential     Desirable

Educated to degree level in a relevant subject                                   

Experience of working or volunteering in the sports, physical activity or                      
dance sectors
Experience of project / programme or event administration                                      
Understanding of Sport England’s current strategy and priorities                               

Understanding of the sports, physical activity and dance sectors and the                       
key partners in each sector
Good communication and interpersonal skills                                      
Good organisational and time management skills                                   

Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure                                

Ability to work as part of a team                                                
Ability to be flexible, adaptable and follow procedure                           
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK and to work evenings         
and weekends as required
Competent in the use of basic IT systems, website admin & social media           
