Segment Activity Description

Consultancy Interior Design Consultancy Firms that prepare landscaping, drawings and designs for residential, commercial and retail buildings, hotels and offices. To provide interior design consulting services to companies within the free zone 1. Compliance with the Licensing Regulations 2003 and Licensing Categories Decision 2009. 2. Compliance with the Employment Regulations 2004.

Objective Requirements

Permissible Activities

Permissible activities shall only and strictly include: 1. Space planning. 2. Concept designing. 3. Interior architecture and designing.

Non-permissible activities

Non-permissible activities shall include all activities not listed as permissible. Non-permissible activities shall include but shall not be limited to: 1. Sponsored staff to work outside the TECOM Zone. 2. Providing turnkey solutions i.e. implementation of the plans / drawings. 3. Displaying products of suppliers / vendors on the premises. 4. Exterior / Interior architectural drawings of buildings for construction purpose. 5. Supply of furniture and fixtures.

Special Conditions Violation of the Guidelines

1. Interior Design Consultancy licensees will not be allotted a customs code. Any violation of these Guidelines will subject the Interior Design Consultancy Licensee to penalties as shall be imposed by the Authority. Said penalties shall amongst other things include: the immediate suspension, retrieval and/or cancellation of the License. For the purposes of these Guidelines, the following defined terms shall have the meaning assigned to them below: Authority: The Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority;

License:

A Interior Design Consultancy license in TECOM Zone issued pursuant to Licensing Regulations 2003; Any person having obtained a license under activity 10.2.8 of Decision Number 1 of 2009 and pursuant to Licensing Regulations 2003; The Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority Decision No. 1 of 2009 concerning Licensing Categories for Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Knowledge Village, Dubai International Academic City, Dubai Outsource Zone, International Media Production Zone, Dubai Studio City, Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park & Energy and Environment Park issued on 10 February 2009, as amended; The Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Licensing Regulations issued in September 2003, as amended;
