When asked, How did you learn this tradition, Have you always had this tradition, and Why did or do you plan on carrying out this tradition? Most people responded that their parents went to college or that their parents encouraged them in some way to receive a degree. Very few people who actually attend and graduate from college admit that their parents had nothing to do with their decision.
Most people were told by their parents that in or in order to be successful in life that they need to go to college and get a degree. A couple of people who were interviewed that admitted that their parents had nothing to do with their choice to attend college, also mentioned that their decision's were due in part by other dignitaries in their life and their influences on them to become successful.
