It has become the grand old lady of outdoor seafood restaurants in Cape Town, with decades of worldwide reputation for its famous calamari and seafood. BEACHES Hout Bay Beach Just across the road from the hotel! The beautiful white sandy beach stretches from Chapmans Peak Drive to the Hout Bay Harbour, and has spectacular mountain surrounds. Visitors can enjoy a cool swim, sunbathing and beach games. There are a number of water sports available on the beach. The best spot for swimming is the section closest to the hotel. Horse riding can be arranged along this beach - an amazing experience. Many whales have been spotted in the bay. This occurs during the months of August – October. Whale spotting can be enjoyed from your private balcony in the sea facing rooms. Dolphin spotting happens year round. Llandudno Beach Just a 10 minute drive north from Chapmans Peak Beach Hotel. This beach is considered to be one of the most picturesque beaches in South Africa. Very popular with surfers, but also ideal for picnics and enjoying the sunset.

Sandy Bay Beach Just a 10 minute drive from Chapmans Peak Beach Hotel. This can be reached by a 20 minute walk from Llandudno. It is totally enclosed by sand dunes and is wind sheltered. It is Cape Town’s only nudist beach, but this is not a necessity to enjoy the beach! Camps Bay Beach Just a 15 minute drive north from Chapmans Peak Beach Hotel. This beach is situated on the edge of Table Mountain, bordered with palm trees. Glen Beach alongside Camps Bay is also a popular spot for surfers. Across the road from the beach the promenade offers a number of trendy restaurants, cafes and bars. The beach hosts popular events during summer, such as volleyball tournaments, and can be a busy beach during season due to easy access. Clifton Beach Just a 20 minute drive north from Chapmans Peak Beach Hotel. Clifton consists of four beaches, which are separated by rocks and are sheltered from the wind, the famous Cape Town South-Easter (also known as the Cape Doctor). The fashionable beaches are popular with tourists and locals. All of the beaches are accessible via steep stairs. The fourth is the most popular with families since it has the least steps. Noordhoek Beach Just a 15 minute drive south over scenic Chapmans Peak Drive. The long sandy beach stretches for 3 kms across Chapmans Peak to Kommetjie. The beach is perfect for walking and horse riding. The waters are hazardous, but are still popular with some adventurous surfers. The Kommetjie end of Long Beach is one of the most popular surfing spots in the Peninsula, attracting body-boarders, surfers and swimmers as well. Boulders Beach Just a 25 minute drive south from Chapmans Peak Beach Hotel. The beach is situated just past Simonstown and is considered to be one of the best swimming beaches in Cape Town. It is also the home of the African penguins. Great for children. Fish Hoek Beach Just a 20 minute drive south from Chapmans Peak Beach Hotel. This beach is popular for a variety of activities, including sailing, surfing, paddling, snorkeling, swimming etc. It is also known as a “warmwater’ beach due to its shallow gentle slope. Great for children and family fun. Muizenberg Beach Just a 20 minute drive south from Chapmans Peak Beach Hotel. This beach is famous on many Cape Town postcards for its colourful beach huts. The beach is safe for swimming and surfing and is the Mecca or soul of Cape Town surfing, very popular with the long board and older/female surfing community. Great for children and family fun.

From Airport Exit the airport and follow the signs for Cape Town, on the freeway N2 (Kaapstad). Follow the off-ramp towards Muizenberg (M3) and pass the University of Cape Town on your right. At the first set of traffic lights after the university, turn right towards Hout Bay and Kirstenbosch (M63 Rhodes Drive). Pass Kirstenbosch main entrance. At T-junction, turn right and follow the road until the traffic circle. Take the right fork down into Hout Bay (M63 South). Continue through 2 traffic circles into Hout Bay Main Road. The hotel is located on the left hand side as the road begins to climb out of Hout Bay (Chapman’s Peak drive), opposite the beach. From Northern Suburbs/Winelands (N1) Take the N1 towards the city and take the Muizenberg (M5) turnoff (first turnoff on left hand side after Century City). After exiting the freeway, keep right at the fork, continuing until you see the N2 exit to Cape Town. Take this exit and continue towards city for a short while, keeping left until you see the M3 Muizenberg exit. Take the left offramp (M3) and follow signs to Muizenberg. From Muizenberg (via Chapmans Peak Drive) Follow the M4 back towards the city and turn left onto Steenberg Rd (M42). Pass the freeway exits and continue onto Ou Kaapse Weg (M64). Turn left onto Ou Kaapse Weg and continue over Silvermine mountain. Turn right onto Silvermine Road and continue until a T-junction at the bottom. Turn right onto Chapmans Peak Drive or Noordhoek Main Road (M6) and continue until Hout Bay at the foot of Chapman’s Peak Drive. The Chapmans Peak Restaurant is located on right hand side at the bottom of the drive as you enter Hout Bay. When approaching the sea, turn left into Princess Avenue at the traffic circle (follow signs to Chapmans Peak viewpoint).
