Patrizia Pieroni for Arsenale Spring – Summer Collection 2008 Sunday 27 January 19.00 Via Governo Vecchio 64 All you need is...a summer of love...For the Beatles and the evergreen David Bowie, for psychedelic art and Oriental travel, to think again at what meant to be teenagers in ’68 and dare an odalisque look in 2008. In her showroom, few steps away from Piazza Navona and from the feminist dream of Governo Vecchio, Patrizia Pieroni proposes a presentation-performance inspired by the movie musical “Across the Universe” and her own personal experience of swinging girl in the New York of the 70’s. Arsenale will become the “temple” of hippy chic fashion, with clothes inside mobile units of green fluorescent perspex and dresses enacted by model-priestesses who, in a cloud of incense and rose petals, will bring votive offerings at the altar dedicated to… Day clothes: combined with bikers’ jackets made with silk threads, there’s the comeback of the high waist trousers buttoned marine’s style, flared pants in the 3 length (short, to the calf and to the ankles), minimal dresses in linen cloth with triangle “air scoops” on the second charka: the one that governs feelings and creativity. Evening dresses: trapezium tunics of plissé georgette’s with metallic embroidery, maxi skirts overlying transparent georgette pants in contrasting colours, apron dresses in aged satin with embroidered waistcoats and paint-dresses, recalling the Napoleonic prints, manufactured in prismatic veil, coupled with drill. The palette of colours ranges from the cold colours of water and air – lime green, bluish green, fuchsia, purple and grey in numerous nuances (ice, pearl, slate, coal) – to the warm colours of earth and fire: red and old-rose, sand, maroon glace, mossgreen.
