Online Tech investing millions in fourth data center in western Wayne County, Michigan
and plans 15 new IT jobs.
Online Tech Expands Colocation and Cloud Computing in Suburban Detroit
Online PR News – 18-November-2013 – Online Tech is building on its leadership position in Michigan with a
new, world class data center facility in metro Detroit. The new data center for secure, compliant
enterprise-class hosting will bring Online Tech’s data center footprint to 100,000 square feet.
According to 451 Research, Online Tech is the market leader in the Detroit Metro with the top market share in
multi-tenant data center space in Michigan. Online Tech’s fourth data center, located in Wayne County, will
add 34,000 square feet of data center space to its footprint. The company currently operates two data centers
in Ann Arbor and another in Flint, Michigan.
Online Tech is renovating and building out a mission critical network switching facility formerly occupied by
Sprint-Nextel. The 34,000 Online Tech Metro Detroit Wayne County New Data Centersquare foot Metro
Detroit Data Center will feature 18,000 square feet of raised floor space. The carrier-neutral facility will
feature fiber connectivity to eight different telecommunications providers, and will support 1.2 MW of IT load.

Carlson, a leading national data center design and construction firm, has been contracted to manage the
build out of Online Tech’s new Metro Detroit data center located in western Wayne County. Construction will
include a complete upgrade of the building’s power, cooling systems, and front office space. Online Tech will
also maintain its commitment to secure and compliant hosting with independent compliance attestations and
audits for the new data center, including HIPAA, PCI, SSAE-16, SOC-2 and Safe Harbor. The new data
center is expected to be complete and ready for occupancy in the second quarter of 2014.
