FORMAT OF AN OFFICIAL LETTER

HEADING NAME & ADDRESS OF ADDRESSEE SALUTATION SUBJECT BODY OF THE LETTER COMPLIMENTARY CLOSE SUBSCRIPTION SUPERSCRIPTION

HEADING
Includes the writer’s address and the date of writing, written at the top right hand side of the page.

RECEIVER’S ADDRESS
It includes the name & address of the receiver. It should be written on the left margin of the page.
To The Principal, DMSSVH College Of Engineering, Machilipatnam.

SALUTATION
This is greeting the person to whom it is addressed. This is written on the left hand side of the page, a line below the address.A comma is put after the salutation.

Sir/Madam,

SUBJECT
• It is placed after the salutation. It should be in phrase form.
sub: Request for Transfer Certificate and conduct certificate.

BODY OF THE LETTER
It should be in simple, easy & direct language. Avoid grammatical mistakes. According to the content divide it into paragraphs. ******************************** ************************************* ************************************* *

This is written just below the body of the letter, at the centre of the page.
