AN EMBEDDED SYSTEM FOR AN EEG BASED BCI ABSTRACT: We proposed system presents the development of an embedded system designed to be used as an EEG based BCI system. The designed system is based on a set of microcontroller and Digital Signal Processor (DSP) in order to accomplish the processing of the signal, the storage and the communication required for the application. The system is completed with a Matlab script used to generate the classifier used in the DSP for identification of user’s intentions, and a set of Windows programs used to show results of the classification and convert the acquired data to use on mathematical software, such as Matlab. Other use of the system is integration of its communication channel in wheelchairs.

ABSTRACT:

        We proposed system presents the development of an embedded system
designed to be used as an EEG based BCI system. The designed system is based on a set

EXISTING SYSTEM

        The existing system is completed with a Matlab script. There is the fully
simulation not a real time system. It used to generate the classifier used in the DSP for
identification of user’s intentions, and a set of Windows programs used to show results
of the classification and convert the acquired data to use on mathematical software,
such as Matlab.

PROPOSED SYSTEM

        In our proposed system used as a tool to test different algorithms to identify
drowsiness, based on the EEG power spectral. The system can also be used as a
biofeedback device, such as the tools of the Open EEG system with a few modifications.
The system described in this article presents an approach to a portable, low power,
wearable BCI system that can communicate with a variety of devices, such as
wheelchairs, personal computers and any other device intended for communication or
augmented mobility.




         The development of the embedded system intended to create a system that
could be small, portable, low power and with different connectivity in order to
communicate with different devices. Another aspect of the system was that it can be
able to store the data into a memory card for off-line processing and analysis.

        The initial system was designed as a set of modules to implement different
functions of the system. The modular design brings the flexibility to change boards
according to the signal that is to be acquired. The system depicted system with the EEG
amplifier boards and the processing and communication boards.
