Frances M. Dunleavy, Ed.D. Principal PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE Thank you to the 32 children and adults who worked so hard in gale force winds at Saturday’s School Beautification. The front garden areas and parking lot look great! A special thanks to Alfonso Esqueda, Jim Eberle, and Robert Riechel for bringing their toys, oops, I mean tools. Thank you also to Michelle Pasquet for organizing the donation of the dumpster and the donuts. Many thanks to Adam, Lucas, Bob and Michele Magni, Giovanni and John Cosmos, Raymond Gee, Colleen and Angelo Eberle, Marina and Jennifer Vergara, Taylor and Rich Brazil, Harmonie, Harlee, and Don Ahuna, Mark and Isabel Harnett, Masaya and Mariko Miyake, Hannah and Marc Engel, Desiree Arretz, Alfons and Xavier Rosales, Robert Riechel, Caren Ferrari, and Claudia Severi. WELLNESS POLICY It broke my heart to send home birthday cupcakes this week. Remember the state’s July 2007 Wellness Policy. Healthy snacks include: fresh fruit, yogurt, vegetables, string cheese, pretzels, graham crackers, muffins, air-popped popcorn, cream cheese/celery, etc. The
following snacks are not allowed: cupcakes, donuts, cake, candy, ice-cream, cookies, fruit roll ups or fruit shapes (must be 100% fruit), soda.

April 24, 2008 POSEY PARADE DESIGN CONTEST Students, submit a design for our float. The theme is Peace Around the World. Designs can be in pencil. First and last names must be on the back. Designs are due to the office by May 2. SENATE BILL 1447 seeks a one time loan from the principal of the Sandburg School money. It is now in the Appropriations Committee. If approved, it will go to the Senate. Please continue those letters of support to our legislators. THE HUGE GARAGE SALE sponsored by the San Bruno Education Foundation will be Sun, May 18 at Allen School. Drop off will be Sat., May 17. To help, please contact John Muir parent, Mark Harnett at 515-3725 or mark@SanBrunoEdFound.org. FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT Join us at 7:00 this Fri. for The Bee Movie.
