Huddersfield has various guest houses and hotels around the outskirts of the town, as well as some larger lodges and hotels in the centre. Huddersfield’s best known hotel, immediately outside the railway station. A good breakfast, at extra cost. The hotel is in need of refurbishment, and can be noisy, but is very convenient for travellers by bus / train and for the university. More information: Travelling to the University of Huddersfield The University of Huddersfield is located on the edge of the town, and is easily accessible by car, bus or train. Car parking will be available free of charge on campus for those registered for the conference. The train and bus stations are 10–15 minutes away from the Creative Arts Building by foot. A direct train service runs frequently between Manchester Airport and Huddersfield, and Leeds-Bradford Airport is also easy to get to by train. The Music Department is in the Creative Arts Building, a brand new building at the entrance to the campus; some university maps may not yet feature this new building, but it is impossible to miss and will be well signposted.
