I completed the design and implementation of the consumer portal that allowed consumers to sign up for these services. This also included building out their infrastructure for development, quality assurance and production. The production environment was PCI Compliant. This new platform was Java based, Eclipse IDE developed, Tomcat Server, MySQL Database, Hibernate, Spring/Appfuse, ExtJS, JSTL, Jasper Reports. It required very extensive security as it was for the financial services industry, with individual financial information ARCHITECT and LEAD DEVELOPER – State of California, Water Quality Management Provided a common data repository for the more than 50 government agencies and 200 private agencies responsible for monitoring and reporting water quality in the State of California. I was responsible for defining the data model that could be used by all of the agencies, as well as supporting historical anomalies for the organizations. This project was Java based, Eclipse IDE developed, Tomcat Server, MySQL Database, Hibernate, Spring/Appfuse, JSTL, Jasper Reports, Apache Validator and POI (a library to read Microsoft documents from Java). In addition, infrastructure was implemented to support the new platform. This project was completed on schedule. MarkMonitor | San Francisco, CA JUNE 2005 – OCTOBER 2007 DIRECTOR OF SOFTWARE ENGINEERING /PLATFORM ARCHITECT, Brand Identity Products – Products and technologies that allow customers to identity and enforce misuse and infringements of trademarks, brands and company names on the Internet. These SaaS systems include spiders, harvesters, databases, scoring, reviewing, case management, enforcement and searching. Implemented a complete new GUI for the portal. Developed Web Services used by client applications, an ‘HTML Screen Scraper’ for monitoring network health and a portal management tool. Gibson Labs | Santa Clara, CA OCTOBER 2003 – SEPTEMBER 2004 SENIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER/TECHNICAL LEAD – Lead developer implementing Gibson’s open license MaGIC Ethernet solution for real-time delivery of distributed digital audio applications. This technology is the fundamental platform for the Gibson Digital Les Paul guitar, and a number of Ethernet based audio distribution systems. Also developed a 6 channel digital guitar amplifier prototype shown at the NAMM show in conjunction with the digital guitar. Tavant Technologies | Santa Clara, CA JANUARY 2003 – SEPTEMBER 2003 PRODUCTION MANAGER – 9-month contract position. Lead expansion of operations, transitioning from one small data center to 5 centers in 3 countries. Directed all production software deployments; managed all 24 x 7 data center operations. I built the worldwide customer support organization and infrastructure in India for both Tavant and their customers, supporting 300 internal software developers, 8 data centers, and 20 eCommerce sites. I managed 7 direct reports in India, and 3 FTEs in the U.S. The improved SaaS portal was implemented using J2EE, BEA WebLogic, Windows, Solaris, WebLogic and Oracle databases.
