JOHN McCAIN WILL ALWAYS PUT OUR COUNTRY FIRST AS PRESIDENT
JOHN McCAIN
John McCain has the experience, judgment and character to lead as Commander-in-Chief from day one. In a volatile world, John McCain has the needed national security and foreign policy experience to be our Commanderin-Chief. McCain has been involved in every major national security issue since the Cuban Missle Crisis, making him uniquely qualified to lead America. • • • McCain served 22 years in the U.S. Navy, including 5 ½ years as a POW. McCain served as commander of the largest attack squadron in the Navy. During his military career, McCain was awarded a Silver Star, a Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and a Distinguished Flying Cross. McCain served 20 years in the U.S. Senate, leading American policy on military and national security issues throughout his career.
NATIONAL SECURITY
McCain had the judgment and courage to call for a change in strategy in the war in Iraq – a strategy that is now succeeding. He has vigorously supported Gen. Petraeus’ successful strategy, a strategy John McCain called for as early as 2003, while the Democrats continue to call for retreat.
ENERGY INDEPENDENCE
Our nation’s future security and prosperity depend on the next President making the hard choices that will break our nation’s strategic dependence on foreign sources of energy and will ensure our economic prosperity by meeting tomorrow’s demands for a clean portfolio. John McCain will lead the effort to develop advanced transportation technologies and alternative fuels to promote energy independence and cut off the flow of oil wealth to repressive dictatorships.
TAXES AND SPENDING
John McCain will get our economy back on track by cutting taxes, spurring investment and innovation and ending wasteful spending in Washington. He will make current tax cuts permanent, fix the Alternative Minimum Tax, cut taxes on American businesses to help our companies remain competitive and simplify our tax code. John McCain will stop the abundance of earmarks and enforce the conservative vision of smaller government by vetoing any pork-barrel bill that comes across his desk.

HEALTH CARE
John McCain will reform our health care system using free market solutions to reduce the skyrocketing costs that threaten to implode the system. He will bring together members of the medical community, consumers, business, and patient advocates to find workable solutions to improve the current system. His plans include tax incentives and filling the gap for uninsured Americans.
