data description A) The information about traffic in Republic Slovenia is provided by the Ministry of Transport - The Directorate of Republic of Slovenia for Roads. Some data in english are free avaiable at: http://www.dc.gov.si/en/ . The Page includes three Working Areas: Roadas, Traffic, Vehicles. Traffic volume data from 2000 to 2006 are available free of charge at http/:www.dc.gov.si/en/traffic/ in .pdf or .xls formats. There are also road map data in .pdf. There exist also publisde data. Two examples are included here s B and C. Beside this Amanova can obtain rough data about traffic load in 1/4 h intervals directly from the governmental service in xls format. We are alredy using such data to test a program for forecasting of traffic flow and modeling of weather influence on it. Beside this we have access to weather data from the Agency for environment. Data of the regional weather monitoring network at the ground, comprehensive of more than 200 stations, with meteorological sensors (rain gauge, thermometers, anemometers, barometers, humidity meters and others)

Network of 5 sites with sodar or/and radiometers for vertical sounding of atmosphere. Sodar: wind data from ground to 700 meters. Radiometers: data of temperature from ground to 1000 meters. Radiometer in Legnago: temperature from ground to 10 km, and humidity from ground to 2 km. Data/images form 2 Doppler radar in C-band, radius of 125 km (doppler) or 250 km (no doppler), located in the central plain (Teolo) and in the eastern plain (Concordia Sagittaria) of Veneto Geostationary MSG-Seviri images.

Visibility monitoring network along the motorway SRIS Event report describes when a cars uses the ABS and ESP. The data includes vehicle id, time, GPS position and some information about the power train status. SRIS Background report describes a cars status every 30ths second. The data includes Vehicle id, time, GPS position, speed, air temperature, windshield wiper rate, etc. Use flight weather observations and forecast for ground use. The information follows a text based global standard and free of charge. It’s updated with details two times every hour with weather information about existing condition, the following 9h and for some airports also 24h ahead. Lot of useful information such: wind direction, wind speed, wind gust, visibility length, rain/mist/snow etc, temperature/duwpoing, cloud type/base, and urgent weather changes and warnings. DLR receives FCD from taxi fleets which use a dispatch system manufactured by different software companies. The GPS-equipped taxis send their position and status periodically to the head office for disposition purposes. DLR is connected to the dispatch systems and gets the anonymized data. The data become worthless for taxi dispatch after the end of the trip. After parsing and transformation to a proprietary and xml-based FCD-format the data is stored in an internal database. BMW XFCD is a very extensive format. It covers not only common FCD data but also a lot of vehicle information like the status of rain sensors, fog lights, the ABS and so on. BMW uses this data for onboard (in the car) applications and off-board (off the car) processing and evaluation. The BMW attributes are taken from the GATS/FCD declaration. The global dataset (GDS) contains world-wide weather observations in SYNOP-, SHIP-, TEMP and TEMPSHIP format; hourly synoptic reports from 62 German weather stations including Neumayer station in Antarctica and all synoptic reports from Norway, Spain and the United Kingdom which are available at the DWD; weather reports of severe weather, such as storms or frozen rain given out for the area covered by Germany; plotted observations and analyses covering selected geographical regions, mainly in Europe; up to 10 days weather forecasts for Germany; essential forecasts of ECMWF (graphically formatted). The global dataset can be used without restriction. For dissemination and publication, also parts of it, the source "Deutscher Wetterdienst" must be listed (or use of the DWD-logo instead). The meteorological meaning of the data may not be changed when published. Loop detector data from the German Autobahnen are only accessible via the data distributor (called Datenverteiler). Data are collected in at least 6 of 16 federal states. GREENWAY provides mobile traffic sensing equipment (e.g., for road construction sites) as well as related traffic management services such as adaptive re-routing of vehicles. The data are similar to loop data Vehicles are measured by means of radar sensors as they pass the road construction site. The sensors can detect speed and vehicle type. The Greenway application can give an indication of the status of the road which can be free, slightly congested (congestuion warning) or congested (1, 2, 3 respectively). Date and sensor number are encoded in the filename. The coordinates of the sensor are not encoded in the file and only known to operators. Weather observations are collected all over the world to monitor prevailing weather. Observations are done every 3rd hour. From some places hourly data is available. Information about temperature,humidity,rain,cloudiness...; Also radar data is stored. That information shows the areas where is raining and the intensity of rain. Also climatic weather data available for Finland FMI's road weather model can calculate road weather analysis and forecasts. It is in operational use. The model calculates for example road surface temperature and defines the state of the surface (surface dry,wet,icy,snowy,frosty) and the driving circumstances (normal,bad,very bad). Weather warnings is a public service to warn people if there are for example hard wind or icy roads (for drivers as well as for pedestrians). http://www.fmi.fi/weather/warning.html Warnings for Europe is available at the site http://www.meteoalarm.eu Some data (observations and forecasts) available at site http://www.fmi.fi/en/ *Finnish Road Administration has road weather monitoring stations along Finnish road network. Stations are measuring for example typical weather parameter (air and surface temperature, wind, humidity, rain) and state of the surface. Now they have also new optical sensor which can define the prevailing friction on the surface. This data is stored. *They are also monitoring the traffic (the average speed, how many cars per hour). *They have information about road works and sometimes accident information. *They have road weather cameras *Lots of information available free at the site: http://alk.tiehallinto.fi/alk/english/frames/tiesaaframe.html *Accident information available from The Finnish Motor Insurers´ Centre as request. Usually if there are lots of accidents in the same day there has been bad driving weather. Accident information can be compared to weather observations or road weather models road weather analysis.

Road weathter data Data owners are data producers or in other words road concessionariees. Some data are colected in Croatian Autoklub. Two concessionariees: Highway RijekaZagreb and Bina Istra are will to cooperate and give for RoadIdea all data they produce. Concessionariee Highway Zagreb-Macelj is not sure for now, but more positive than negative. The biggest concessionariee Croatian Highways is not will to cooperate. In april will have some more information about data type and format we can get. The traffic volume and speed data are collected systematicaly for decision makers, planners, designers etc. Meteorological (micro climate) data collected from the roads for maintenance service Data of personal injury accidents on public roads Weather observations are collected from all over the world.
