					Swingsations Booster Meeting July 9, 2007 - 6:00 p.m. Spitler Woods State Park The regular monthly meeting was held July 9, 6:00 p.m. at Spitler Woods State Park in conjunction with the welcome picnic. Steve Myers, President, presided and Sonya Woodrum, Secretary, acted as Secretary of the meeting. Secretary’s Report The June minutes are not yet available and will be approved at next month’s meeting. Booster club folders were distributed to all members. Folders included: Club directory, Constitution ByLaws, Bingo schedule, Bingo game explanations, June financial report, meeting agenda and reimbursement forms. E-mail communication seems to be working well for all members. Treasurer’s Report Kim Graff presented the treasurer’s report as of June 30, 2007. Income this month was received from Kroger Certificates ($114.00). Expenses for the month included: Pony Express Days vendor fee ($230.00), direct goal reimbursements ($800.00, misc. competition fees ($1,530.42), publicity expenses ($261.41) and other monthly expenses. Total available funds as of June 30 are $103,954.34. The motion was made to accept the treasurer’s report as presented and approved unanimously. Bingo Report We still have several work shifts available on a couple of the bingo shifts, contact Melody Naron or Rich Jackson if interested. If you have found a sub to replace you, please let your crew chief know in advance so that they will know who to expect to be working that night. Also, if you are not able to get to the bingo hall by 4:30 p.m., let your crew chief know you will be arriving later. Director’s Report Steve Myers spoke with Supt. Brinkoetter today regarding the search for a new director. They have received several applications and plan to start interviewing this week. Hope to have a new director named by the end of July. Old Business Audio CD Order – distributed the remaining audio CD’s order from last year’s competition show at tonight’s meeting. Senior night videos are not done yet and will be distributed to seniors as soon as possible. Blue Ribbon Days – Held on July 3 at the Lions Club Park. We sold out… selling 600 cookies at this event. Thank you to Tammie Myers and Kim Graff for chairing this event. New Business Celebration Sign-ups – August 3, 4, 5. See Ken Tague for booths & gates and Tim Brandt for carnival. Sign-up sheets have been posted to the booster club website: . Please check to make sure you have not double-booked yourself.

Farm Progress Show – August 28, 29, 30. We have committed to providing 100 people per day for this event and will probably be assigned gate admissions and some parking. There will be two shifts available each day: 6:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 11:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Swingsations will be singing the national anthem each morning prior to the opening of this event. Students and parents are eligible to sign up for these work shifts. Sign-up sheets will be posted on the club website in the next few weeks. Shefina Gorrell has volunteered to help chair this event. Pony Express Days – August 15 – 19. Since we do not have the funnel cake trailer available, we thought about selling cookies. Due to the timing of this event that falls between Decatur Celebration and the Farm Progress Show, the group agreed to withdraw from this event this year. It may be an event that we participate in every other year (on the off years of the Farm Progress Show). Committee Chairs – Steve Myers has filled almost all of the committee chairs for the 20072008 year. If you are interested in any of the unfilled slots, contact Steve Myers. Misc. -Steve Myers addressed the group about rumors of possible money mishandling in the group this past year. Last year’s board informed school district officials of the situation and the issue has been resolved without using any booster club funds. Steps have been implemented for all booster club accounts to avoid any similar situation in the future. Kroger cards are still available, see Terry Cunningham.
