Our Lady of the Rosary and Queen of Peace Parishes Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee September 20, 2009 – Twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Introduction to the Liturgy of the Day At this time of year, when the school year has begun and our autumn activities are under way, the children of our community are very much on our minds. It seems that Jesus, too, is thinking about the children, and reminding us that we are to receive the most vulnerable among us with open arms. So today let our prayers make us mindful of the ser vice to which Jesus Christ calls us every day. Second Edition – Year B Order of the Mass Readings for Ordinary Time #110 #676 Introduction to the Liturgy of the Word
Wisdom 2:12, 17-20 Psalm 54 James 3:16-4:3 Mark 9:30-37 The just one is condemned to a shameful death. “The Lord upholds my life.” The fruit of righteousness is sown in peace for those who cultivate peace. Whoever receives a child in Jesus’ name receives Jesus.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus speaks often about his coming passion. His disciples, for their part, ignore these predictions. Instead, they argue among themselves about what share in Jesus’ royal power and glory will be given them. Jesus’ response to the disciples’ arrogance is not one of anger or frustration. What he does is remarkable—he hugs a little child and tells his disciples, and us, that whoever welcomes a little child welcomes him. That is who is greatest in Jesus’ kingdom.

ADORATION… ―I desire that my love in the Blessed Sacrament should be the sun to enlighten every heart and the heart to reanimate every soul. That is why my words must reach them. I want all the world to recognize in the Blessed Sacrament a God of mercy and love. I wish that everywhere my desire to forgive and save souls should be read, and not even the most wretched be kept back by fear…or the most guilty fly form me. Let them all come to me in the Blessed Sacrament, I await them with open arms like the most affectionate of Fathers in order to impart life and true happiness to them.‖ Just a reminder, adoration at Rosary is e very Monday from 9:00am – 11:00am. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK each and every one of you who work at the church and on all the events/dinners. You know who you are, for all the work you do through out the year. You are needed and appreciated. Thank you. The bulletin is not big enough to list every one; we are blessed to have so much good help!!!
