There are many types of financial aid available and each has a specific process students are required to follow. The financial aid office at CCAC is available to assist students with the financial aid process. We have described each type below to help students get started. The first step in applying for financial aid is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. This form is a requirement of the US Department of Education (DOE) and will establish the student’s eligibility for the various types of aid listed in this document. There are two ways students can complete the form: on paper or online. To expedite the response from the DOE the student should consider using the online process, as it will reduce the time it takes to receive the Student Aid Report (SAR) by several weeks. The SAR is the form that will list the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and will allow the CCAC financial aid office to process the student’s file. The FAFSA must be completed each academic year (time period covering July1 – June 30). See PHEAA information below for important deadlines. CCAC will send the student a letter notifying him or her of documentation that must be submitted to the financial aid office before financial aid is awarded. Failure to provide the documents will postpone the awarding of the student’s financial aid. The student can also view the missing documents and financial aid award online through the CCAC website at www.ccac.edu and selecting “Online Services.” The financial aid process does take time and in some cases awards may not be made before tuition is due. This means the student will need to pay for the courses by the tuition due date and be reimbursed if financial aid is received. To secure a seat in classes, students have the option of taking advantage of the CCAC tuition payment plan.

PHEAA STATE GRANT (Pennsylvania State Grant)  Complete and submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form  Students who submit their FAFSA by May 1 will be eligible for consideration of a PHEAA grant.
