Tiroler Ski Club presents:
Jan 30th – Feb 6th, 2010
You have spoken and we have listened. We are returning to the site of the fantastic Winter Carnival trip in 2006, including lodging at the Ice House, the highly rated hotel /condo complex just one block from the Village Gondola. Telluride is stashed in a box canyon among the highest concentration of 14,000 foot peaks in North America. The spectacular scenery is undeniably some of the most beautiful in the Rockies. However, the breathtaking views are just a part of what makes Telluride stand out among mountain destinations. Historic buildings, quaint bakeries and local watering holes blend with luxury hotels, world-class restaurants, sophisticated shops and some of the finest spas on the planet. In keeping with Telluride’s reputation for legendary terrain, the resort is thrilled to add the newly opened Revelation Bowl to its list of recently expanded terrain. This spectacular lift-served European-style terrain is located directly off the back side of famous Gold Hill and Chair 14. Situated above tree line, the natural, wideopen bowl offers advanced and expert skiing in an unbelievably scenic setting. Descending into the bowl, skiers and riders will be able to choose ridgelines in either direction, offering steeper pitches and rock features on the far sides of the powder bowl. The center touts an expanse of rolling, advanced terrain with a groomed path for cruising. All told, the resort has expanded by nearly 400 acres this year, offering some of the most stunning skiing and riding on the continent. The resort’s vertical drop is now one of the largest in North America at 4,425 feet, with 3,845 vertical feet lift-served. For beginners and intermediates, Telluride offers a huge midsection of solid Blue’s and Greens. Check out the trail map and see! Telluride is far from Denver – no day trippers here. Our 2006 trip participants were very enthusiastic about Telluride. They will vouch that Telluride has a great variety of on and off the slope options …truly something for everyone! For the ladies: Owning real estate and frequenting Telluride, you may find yourself seated on the lift with Oprah or Tom Cruise. For the gentlemen, you may find yourself next to Katie Holmes, Christie Brinkley, Susan St James, or General Norman Schwarzkopf! On the bus ride in, you will pass the expansive Ralph Lauren ranch. For non-skiers: Telluride has a Nordic Center that is located up on the mountain that offers snow-shoeing and cross-country trails. It is rare (Beaver Creek also has this) to find an elevated trail system, instead of traipsing around a converted golf course at ground level. The town itself is a National Historic Landmark District, full of galleries, restaurants, and gift shops. A variety of recorded self-guided tours are available (I took an architectural tour in 06). Included in your price will be NON-STOP airfare (from Newark to Montrose), transfers, choice of multiple lodging options at the Ice House ranging from hotel rooms to suites to condos, deluxe continental breakfast, and 5 of 6 day lift tickets. See the reverse side of this form for important financial information.
