					SANDESTIN BEACH AND GOLF RESORT SCA CHEERLEADER CAMP
June 9 - 12, 2009
Thank you for choosing SCA for your cheerleader camp training. We are looking forward to working with you and your squad. Please read the following carefully and make copies of this form for each camp participant.

BALANCE PAYMENT
Final payment is due 14 days or two weeks prior to camp. Payments must be made with a single school check, money order, or cashier’s check.Please mail a copy of your invoice along with your balance payment. Make certain that SCA has received your camp application form by fax or mail so that we have all the necessary contact information. IMPORTANT: SCA cannot make Sandestin cancellations after April 15th.

REGISTRATION/HOUSING
Check-in at Bayside Inn (guest registration center) where you will receive a map and key cards.The Resort check-in time is 4:00 p.m., however; the rooms may be ready earlier. Camp will begin at 3:30 in the Linkside Conference Center. If you are unable to check –in prior to this time please go directly to the conference center. Each housing unit has twobedrooms each with full baths. One bedroom has twin beds and the other has a king-sized or double-sized bed. The living room has a pull-out sofa bed that converts to a double-sized bed. The rooms comfortably sleep 6 but can be made to accommodate 7. The kitchens are fully equipped with microwave, dishwasher, cookware, flatware, glasses, dishtowels, etc…The bathrooms have towels, shampoo, conditioner, and soap. Each unit has a washer and dryer, no coins necessary, just bring a zip-lock of washing detergent… and don’t forget dish detergent. There is an iron,ironing board, and broom in each unit. The televisions are set-up to play video tapes so bring some of your favorites!

SCHEDULE
Opening session, 3:30 p.m., classes immediately following. Classes in the Linkside Conference Center. SCA encourages you to bring creative signs to showplace in the conference center ! Paper signs may be put up with art gum…

MEALS
The dinner meal on Day I (poolside) and the lunch meals on Day II and Day III are provided …

VISITORS
No dates or over-night visitors. This camp is not set-up for spectators, there is no special seating for guests.

WHAT TO BRING
Practice clothes: See reverse side of this form. Swimsuit, sunscreen, water bottle, beach towel, poms, notebook, and spending money. Do not bring jewelry or valuables. It’s a good idea to pack a “SQUAD FIRST AID KIT”: Band-aids, ace-bandage,zip-lock bag for ice or instant cold pack, aspirin, and throat lozenges.

CAMP STORE
T-shirts, sweatshirts, shorts, monogrammed backpacks and patches are a few of the items that will be available for your camp mementos. Also, SCA will again be producing a CD with the 2009 cheers, sideline chants,and music for the 2009 SCA dance routines. Camp store will be open the first evening before and after dance and cheer competition as well as the final morning. SCA is offering a t-shirt exclusively for the Sandestin camp.

EVALUATION/COMPETITION
OPTIONAL: Cheer competition/evaluation first night of camp, perform one home cheer. Building, jumps, and tumbling may be incorporated. OPTIONAL: Dance competition first night of camp, must perform dance routine to music not to exceed 1 minute 15 seconds. Jumps may be incorporated but tumbling and building are not allowed. MASCOTS: Bring your official mascot suit if possible, a one minute skit which defines your character through pantomime and antics. You may use small props and music but not your voice. You will have the opportunity to perform this skit before the entire camp on Day II ! Bring markers, poster paper, and a CD player and any potential props!

PARENT’S MEDICAL RELEASE FORM:
Each student attending camp must bring a parent release form giving the medical center permission to treat the student should an accident occur. Use the form below or bring a similar signed card. SCA does not provide special camp insurance for participants and will not assume any financial responsibility for injuries. Cut on line and bring to camp

Please mail the roster sheet back with the brochure application filled out along with a deposit of $50.00 per participant or you may send the full payment. You may bring as many parent chaperones as you would like just as long as they are on the roster sheet and billing is through the school.

NON-PARTICIPANTS SCA offers a non-participant fee. We understand that several squads will be accompanied by bus drivers ,parents,chaperones, etc…. This fee excludes meals and is for housing and all of the amenities offered to us at the resort which includes the use of the Linkside Center.

Please make sure that chaperones/parents direct any questions to you and not the Sandestin Resort. If they call the resort they will also suggest that they direct questions through the school advisor.

SCA SANDESTIN CAMP SCHEDULE 2009
As with traditional SCA camps ,parents and spectators are invited to watch the home cheer and dance competition at 7:30 p.m. on Day I. On the last day guests may watch squad final evaluation/competition beginning at approximately 8:00 a.m..
