Library Rovers provide assistance to readers when and where it is needed. The Library Rover service is available Monday to Friday 10.00 -17.00 on levels 2,3 and 4 of the James Joyce Library. Further information can be found on the Reader Services blog. NEED A LAPTOP IN THE JAMES JOYCE LIBRARY? The James Joyce Library has launched a Library Laptop Loan Service. This great new service will enable students and staff to borrow a laptop for use in the JJL. A fully charged battery will allow a maximum of three hours loan of a laptop. The laptops connect to the UCD Network (both wired & wireless), comes equipped with standard software (including MS Office; EndnoteX & Google Earth), and supports printing from the Library's public printers. EXPRESS SERVICE AVAILABLE 7 DAYS A WEEK The Express Service machines in the James Joyce Library near the Library entrance(and a third in Short Loan) will enable readers to borrow, return and renew (if applicable) most library books. This important service development means that even when Library service desks are closed circulation services are available. Please don't hesitate to ask Library staff for more information or assistance. UCD LIBRARY MAKES IT EVEN EASIER TO CHAT! The Library launched our new homepage earlier this week. One of the many new developments is the inclusion of a Meebo widget. This enables readers to chat online with Library staff during service hours without the need for Instant Messaging account and/or downloading client applications. PLACE YOUR JJL THESES REQUESTS ONLINE Readers can now submit their James Joyce Library (JJL) theses requests online. Simply access the Theses Collection page and select the "Request a JJL thesis" option which appears at the top of the page. The launch of this form means that it is no longer necessary to call into the JJL to submit a theses request. Theses are normally available for consultation the following day (mon-thurs) at the Level 1 Information Desk.
