   Health care providers and teens don’t always speak the
    same language

   Adolescent Health Care Communication Program
    (AHCCP) provides solutions

   This workshop will illustrate AHCCP as an adaptable
    national model to decrease communication barriers
    between adolescents and health care providers.
              Talking About Sex
   National Institute of Reproductive Health is an innovative
    Institute for state and local organizations working on
    reproductive health issues

   We offer strategic guidance, hands-on support and
    funding to help state and local leaders to remove barriers
    to health care, win public battles and change public
    policies
     n Action Tool Kit available online

Teen Outreach Reproductive CHallenge
  (TORCH)

   An innovative program in New York City
    that empowers high school students to:
    n   improve themselves and their
        communities
    n   help doctors learn how to better interact
        with teens
    n   empower other youth to make informed
        and healthy decisions
             Talking About Sex

   AHCCP believes that teens are uniquely
    equipped to offer health care providers authentic
    insight into their own experiences relating to
    reproductive and sexual health

   Since 2003, the AHCCP has been training teens
    to do exactly that

    n   Adolescent Standardized Patient Project (ASPP)

   Our model program has been replicated in seven sites
    across the country

    n   Wisconsin
    n   Washington, D.C
