Fundraising for YWT
As a volunteer you are already doing something amazing for the Trust. Your time is a really valuable donation. Would
you like to encourage others to make a donation too?
Fundraising for us does not necessarily mean we want you to jump out of an aeroplane, run a marathon, or shave your
head (although we won’t stop you! ) Such heroics are not for everyone - and you might not want to do them too often!
If you do wish to do something like this then you can use our online giving pages to make life easier for you!

We have teamed up with Justgiving.com and created our own just giving area. So – if you want to fundraise for us why
not set up your own fundraising page?!
Go to www.justgiving.com/yorkshirewildlife to create your page today!

Here are some other (less energetic) ways to help raise vital funds to turn into vital work to protect our wonderful county.

Eat Drink and Raise Money!
As the name suggests this idea involves nothing more challenging than inviting some friends round for dinner and having
a great time. Just go to www.dinner4good.com/YWT and you'll see that it couldn't be easier.

Take 5 mins to create a personalised "Dinner Page" on the Dinner4Good website and then email invitations (which are
automatically sent from the site) Your guests then accept and make a donation if they wish to your chosen charity
online, which means you can see who's coming and how much is being raised - in a click. It reduces the awkwardness of
asking for money and no there's no hassle with collecting cash. Dinner4Good takes care of everything, including the Gift
Aid application - so all you have to do is eat, drink and enjoy yourselves

Are you a local Hero?

Sainsbury’s Local Heroes scheme will donate up to £700 for the charity that you regularly volunteer or fundraise for -
us! This is only valid for Sainsbury’s staff – so if you know anyone who works for them and shares your love of
Yorkshire’s Wildlife let them know.

Save and Raise
Find cheaper gas and electricity through www.saveandraise.co.uk and they will donate £10.50 to us for each utility you
change! (at no cost to you)

                                                                        Protecting Wildlife for the Future

Hedge Management and Machinery Demonstration
Join FWAG for an afternoon walk to look at hedgerow management and hedge cutting
machinery at New Hall Farm, near Barnsley, by kind permission of Helen and David Rhodes.

      • Meet at New Hall Farm, Ardsley, Barnsley, S71 5EZ
      • Date and time: Thursday 22nd October at 1.30pm
      • Hedge cutting machinery demonstration
      • Walk and discussion on hedgerow management with Jasper Prachek (Yorkshire
Hedgelaying Association) and Emily Ledder (Natural England regional hedgerow
          specialist)

Hedgerows are an essential component of the British landscape and of vital importance to wildlife
out in the countryside. This event will focus on the management of hedges, with special reference
to bringing old and outgrown hedges back into management. We will look at various types of
hedge cutting machinery, discuss cutting regimes and techniques, and when it is appropriate to lay
or coppice a hedge. New Hall Farm has some wonderful old, species-rich hedges, many of which
are included in the farms current ELS/HLS agreement, and a programme of hedge management
and restoration is currently underway. Helen Rhodes and Jasper Prachek have produced a hedge
