Ballenas Breakfast Program is Changing It Up!!
Now It’s Lunch!
Most students are now arriving very close to the beginning of first block – too late to have breakfast. So
we have decided to serve Lunch on Mondays and Thursdays. Same deal - $2 in the MPR during lunch
hour. We will also be selling muffins before school starts and between 1st and 2nd blocks for those who
haven’t eaten breakfast – in the socialization area.

1. Capilano University: The Fine and Applied Arts Department of Capilano University have an Open Studio Day on
November 19, 2009. Visit FnAA.info to find out more.
2. Maclean’s On-Campus Virtual Fair – November 12, 2009: This innovative event will allow you to visit college
and university campuses across the country. Canadian colleges and universities will be represented in our vir-
tual convention hall, each with its own booth. Information on admissions, scholarships and financial aid will be
available. The fair is live on November 12 from 3:00 am to 6:00 pm PST. Registration is free. Students, par-
ents, teachers and administrators can register at www.macleans/ca/oncampusfair. Students will also have the
opportunity to win $5,000 for registering. If you miss the event on November 12, it will still be available until
3. Simon Fraser University (Surrey Campus): Important Dates: Annual Open House will be held Thursday, March

4. Simon Fraser University (Surrey Campus): SFU Surrey Entrance Award. Step 1: Students should go to http://
pas.bc.ca before February 28, 2010 and apply for admission to SFU Surrey. For information on how to apply or
to get help with your application, visit http://students.surrey.sfu.ca/undergraduate/admission. Step 2: Self-
report your grades and pay the application fee to be considered for admission. Step 3: Submit Entrance Award
application form and supporting documents to SFU no later than March 1, 2010.
5. Vancouver Island University: The Program Information Sessions for 2009-2010 are posted in the Counselling
Office. The information is also available at viu.ca/infosessions. Parents’ Night is scheduled for Tuesday, Febru-
ary 23, 2010 in Building 300, Royal Arbutus Room at the Nanaimo Campus beginning at 7:30 pm. It will consist
of an overview highlighting Admissions, Programming, Financial Aid and Scholarships at VIU, followed by re-
freshments and an opportunity to meet faculty, staff and current students.
6. Queen’s University: Major Admission Scholarship deadline is December 1, 2009.

sions, the Ministry will no longer be printing and distributing the Grad Planner. A printable version of the 2009/10
