A Monterey attorney went so far as to ask a judge to order the removal of our papers from the streets. That's certainly never happened before! We have a follow-up story by Kelly Nix, an editorial and a front page "clarification."
Pebble Beach businessman Scott Salyer's downfall is complete and he'll spend six years in federal prison after being sentenced Tuesday in Sacramento. The hearing included several fascinating debates and surprising revelations, and I was there.
In a major triumph for sound public policy, the water board recommended this week that the new desal plant (if it's ever built) be big enough to supply a little new water for lots of record and other essential uses. Kelly reports that one, too.
