The carbon dioxide and oxygen cycle
is the process by which carbon dioxide
and oxygen are cycled and recycled in the
biosphere. All living organisms are
involved in this process. Animals and
humans take in oxygen and produce carbon
dioxide while plants take in carbon
dioxide and produce oxygen.
Respiration is the oxygen-using process.
Humans and animals take in food and
oxygen, and give off energy, carbon
dioxide, and water.

Photosynthesis is the
reverse of respiration.
In this process,
plants take in energy
(sunlight), water, and
carbon dioxide, and
produce food and oxygen.
