A  14 year old, Danielle with Von Willebrand
  Disease is new H.S. student competing on the
  girl’s swim team. The students has passed
  the WIAA physical exam for swimming
  participation.
 History of swimming since the age of 8.
 Last year, qualified for state participation in
  the 12-14 years of age 100 m breast stroke.
 Danielle is on continuous birth control with
  no menses in the last 3 months.
 History    of two bleeds while swimming
  Ø Right   knee bleed as result of fall on the pool
    deck
  Ø Right wrist bleed as result of impact on hitting
    the pool wall at the end of a swimming event
 Mom  is a single parent and works full-time at
  Department of Transportation and part-time
  at Kohl’s Department Store.
 Medications
  Ø desamino-8-arginine  vasopressin (DDAVP) daily
  Ø Factor VIII as needed
