4 H Science is very attractive to funders
4-H funders.
•Why?
•4-H is America’s largest youth service organization
•In NYS in 2010 more than 383,000 youth were reached by 4-H
(11% of all youth in the state)
  It s 4-H
• It’s Measurable: 4 H Science has 3 measurable goals: Improve
science literacy, increase science majors and college
         graduates pursuing science careers
               th di th t f d tt t 4 H has
• It engages the audience that funders want to support: 4-H h a
pipeline of 5 million youth involved in SET (101,948 in NYS)

There is F nding Out There…

       these partners
•We have a large SET-based industry in NYS with many
opportunities for new funding partnerships - will work
with county offices to identify/research potential funding
       partners
We ill develop articulate, compelling case statements and

       4-H SET a reality
•We will recruit others to help us reach out to funders.
              Partnerships
•Cultivate new linkages to existing projects
and partners – on and off campus –
        strengthening the depth and
        breadth of campus/county
        connections
•Pursue partnerships with museums,
        science centers and other
        educational institutions to extend
        our outreach capacity.

    Measuring Participation

   ACCESS 4-H is developing a
reporting tool to allow for us to
report on how we are reaching
youth & new youth with 4-H SET
program. We should be able to
easily pull local and state numbers.
