The recruitment sector is unique when it comes to the way that recruitment managers
motivate and manage their recruiters, while at the same time having to perform the task
of being a key ‘biller’ in the team.

Auchenbowie, Stirling, UK, June 12, 2013 -- The recruitment sector is unique when it
comes to the way that recruitment managers motivate and manage their recruiters; while
at the same time having to perform the task of being a key ‘biller’ in the team. This
complex role demands a number of skills that are only developed through specific
recruitment training that is designed to deliver results. Currently one such recruitment
training programme for billing managers runs just twice a year in the UK.

Recruitment is a fast paced world where recruiters are always focused on the next
placement and delivering for clients. The structure of the recruitment team involves a
number of recruitment consultants managed by a billing manager.

A classic scenario is that the billing manager is promoted into his or her role because they
are an outstanding consultant who consistently hits their own billings. All well and good
however, when a recruitment manager has to hit their own billings target and manage a
team, it can prove a real challenge. The skillset is quite different and one that most billing
managers need help with. This precise problem is one that Nicky Coffin of Centred
Excellence knows only too well. Nicky was a director in her own recruitment company
and at the same time also its highest biller. On the surface this might seem ok and yet this
exact problem faces many ambitious recruitment companies that want to grow.

Nicky commented; “I knew I had to do something about it and fast, otherwise we
would continue to have the peaks and troughs we were experiencing. That is when I
decided to invest in my own recruitment development to help improve my range of skills,
so that I could help the recruiters I was managing be better at what they were doing.
Within 18 months we had turned everything around. It was this experience that fostered
my dream of helping other recruitment managers, like me, do the same. It has taken a few
years to develop and now we have the fastest growing billing manager training
programme in the UK. It only runs twice a year and luckily I never have trouble filling all
the available places.”

A recruitment manager needs to develop a key range of skills and attributes to perform at
a high level from; influencing, listening, coaching, performance management, empathy,
and motivation. The support of others going through the journey at the same time is an
additional bonus. The Centredexcellence billing manager programme includes all these
elements, spread out over six months and includes all the latest learning techniques and
technologies.
