Bria Adams is a graduate from York School with a GPA of 3.89. Active in sports both in the community
and on school teams; played basketball, field hockey, track and field, and lacrosse. Bria is tre
York Key Club, and one of the Student Coordinators for Student body activities. She plays violin
been involved as a volunteer tutor at King Elementary school in Seaside. She plans to attend Boston U -
versity majoring in Pre-Medicine.

Nala Alleyne-Johnson is a graduate from North Salinas High School. Her community service across me
county is exceptional. She has participated with the Monterey County Historical Society and several oth
organizations. She is a member of the Health Academy. This organization provides an opportunity for
students to get first hand experience at hospitals. It is especially designed for students that desire to pursue
a career in the medical field. She has spent many community service hours with organizations located in
the Seaside community. She has a real passion for sports and math, and she plans to attend CSUMB. Her
career goal is to become a Radiologist.

Christine Aviles is a graduate from Seaside High with a 4.16 GPA. She is very involved in a variety of
activities from playing sports to playing the flute. Her greatest achievement in addition to her academics i
serving in the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC). She holds the highest rank as the Battal-
ion Commander. She has also held the position of company 1st Sergeant and Company Commander. She
is a well-rounded leader. She is involved in numerous community service activities. Her career goal is to
become a registered dietician. She plans to attend the University of California Davis. After she is granted
her degree, she will join the Peace Corps. This chosen career will enable her to raise healthy nutritional
awareness and wellness.

Jonquis Deshaun Bouyea was a dedicated, hard-working student athlete while attending Seaside High
School. He recently graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3 .47, was captain of the Junior Varsity and Varsi-
ty Basketball Team each year, a member of the PTSA, the Federal Christian Athletes Organization and the
SHS Leadership Program. His future plans include attending CSU Monterey Bay this fall where he will
major in Kinesiology, and he participates in the NAACP College Chapter at CSUMB, and continues to
volunteer in various programs in our community. After college, Jonquis endeavors to help injured people
regain and excel in physical performance through a career in sports medicine.

Tyller D. Byrom is a graduate from Seaside High with a GPA of 3.57. He was active in Track and Field
all 4 years of high school; writer for the Spartan Chronicles (school magazine), and plans to attend The
Citadel and major in Civil Engineering with an ultimate goal of becoming a naval aviator. Tyller has been
involved as a camp tutor, volunteer of the Lions club, and was awarded membership to the National So-
ciety of High School Scholars.
Rachel E. Carter is a graduate of Marina High School as an Independent Studies Student with a 3.89 GPA.
She has achieved many impressive recognitions and awards. To name a few, she won first place in the
ASCI Regional Science Fair, second place in The Material Science Monterey County Science Fair, and
Magna Cum Laude in a National Latin Examination. Other achievements include Duke Tip-selection for a
Summer Camp Academy Program, and she was selected for the National Student Leadership Conference
in 2012. She is also a former Delta Gem. Through her involvement with HARA Motion Pictures Conser-
vatory in Monterey, she wrote, edited and directed a film short, "It's a Process" which was presented at
the 2012 Carmel Arts and Film Festival. She is planning to attend Monterey Peninsula College and then
transfer to a college that offers a good film program such as the University of Southern California. Film is
her passion, and she plans to write, make and act in film for a living.

Jordan Collignon is a graduate of Monterey High School, he has consistently maintained a GPA of 3.83.
His extra curriculum activities include photography, and robotics team competition. Jordan volunteers
with Habitat for Humanity and the Surf Rider Foundation. Of note, Jordan has written a paper reflecting
on the importance of community members becoming involved in the decision making process in their
communities. Jordan's focus is Mathematics and Physics. He plans to attend California State University
at Monterey Bay.

Juana Contreras graduated from Seaside High School in 2010 and is now a graduate of Monterey Penin-
sula College with an Associate of Arts degree in Mathematics. Having come to the United States in 2005
without any knowledge of the English language, Juana had to work very hard to achieve those milestones.
She plans to transfer to a four year university this fall, and her long-term goals include earning a Master'
Degree in Mathematics and becoming a math teacher. Her motivation to become a teacher derives from
her desire to be able to help students who struggle with academics, just as she has, due to being English

Martin Contreras Chavez is a graduate with Honors from Seaside High School. He plans to attend The Uni-
versity of California-Berkeley, majoring in mathematics and engineering. He has been nearly a Straight-A
student with a 3.94 GPA. He has participated as a volunteer in the California State University Monterej
Bay's Educational Talent Search, and Imagine College "Work for Success" programs. Martin has bee

Jessica Diaz Quiane will be attending San Jose State University in pursuit of a bachelor's degree'
graphic design. Jessica moved to the United States with her family at six years old without knowing the
language or how to read or write. She worked hard to make her dreams come true and achieved a 3.82 GP"
while taking AP and Honor courses at Monterey High School. She wants to make her parents and famil;
proud, and set an example for other young people to see that with determination and hard work, you c
do anything you set your mind to.
Tevin Edward graduated from Everett Alvarez High School with a 3.7 GPA. He playe
Football and Track & Field throughout high school. As a Boy Scout since he was very yo

Adam Fraga graduated from Seaside High school student with a 3.66 GPA. Adam's plans are to atten
Sacramento Statue University and major in Criminal Justice. Adam participated in high school football,
basketball, soccer, track, cross country, and wrestling. He also volunteered in the community for Sperl..
Special Olympics, and Rebuilding Together. He aspires to be a K-9 police officer and work in his former
East Salinas neighborhood. Adam's supporters recognize him as a leader and a positive influence on others.

Kaitlin Harvey is a Seaside High School graduate with a 4.21 GPA. Kaitlin volunteers in her community
at health organizations, her local parish, and Girls Inc. She was also on the SHS Softball team. Kaitlin's
plans are to attend a university and major in pre-medical or human biology and become a dentist. She is
admired for her attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and compassion for others.

James L. Hill III graduated from Monterey High with a 3.78 GPA. He has maintained a balance with his
academics, community service and school extracurricular activities. He is a youth baseball camp instruc-
tor. His involvement with the Big Sur marathons and time spent at sport camps gave him the opportunity
to sharpen his leadership skills and skills necessary to be a competitive athlete. He was a volunteer for
the Salinas Air Show. James plans to attend San Diego State University this fall to major in Kinesiology
and further his baseball career. He is a modest, hard-working high-honor roll student, a four year varsity
letter winner in baseball, and a two year letter winner in football. James has received numerous accolades
in sports such as Monterey Bay League MVP, All-County, and multiple team captain awards. James plans
to pursue graduate studies in Kinesiology and plans on giving back to youth through sports and athletic
activities. He hopes to open a youth indoor training facility.

Deja Howard is a graduate of Seaside High School. She was on the honor roll the entire four years of high
school and has taken advanced placement classes. Deja graduated with a 3.53 GPA. Her extra curricular
activities included Track and Field in which she was named MBL champion in the 4x1 and 4x4 relays.
Additionally, Deja has volunteered with the Salvation Army, Big Sur marathon, Read Across America. and
the Salinas Air Show. She plans to attend Sacramento State University.

Lanja Karadaghi is a graduate from Monterey High with a 4.2 GPA. She is a strong leader. She parti
pated in a number of extracurricular activities, and she has spent a number of hours volunteering. Lar:~
has volunteered at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and she has spent time fundraising and feeding those
need. She is a member of the Key Club. She is also Student Body Vice President and served as a stud
council member. She plans to attend California State University and pursue a career in political science
She would like to study abroad in a few countries after she receives her bachelor's degree. Eventually
wants a career as an attorney.

Ryan J. Kausin is graduate from Seaside High School and is number one in his class. He is the Valedic
rian with a 4.36 GPA. He said, "Being named valedictorian is the greatest achievement of his life because
it's his reward for hard work. He plans to pursue a career in Computer Science and Information Techn •..-
ogy. He has been accepted at several colleges. His immediate preference is to enroll in a joint compu
program at Hartnell College and CSUMB. This program offers an internship at Silicon Valley or a I
business. He believes that achieving this internship will shape his career as an expert in his chosen fie

Natthaporn Laitha is a graduate from Seaside High with a 3.89 GPA. She has done an outstanding job
balancing academics and extracurricular activities. She is a member of the Key Club, National Honor So-
ciety, and AVID. Her community service is extensive. Her participation varied from assisting in Big S
marathons to helping to feed those in need. She has also volunteered with Rebuilding Monterey-Salinas
where she helped rehabilitate the houses of the disabled and elderly. She has participated in school clean-
ups and enjoys helping others. She plans to stay close to her community and attend CSUMB.

Yesenia Lucas is a sophomore at California State University Monterey Bay, pursuing a Bachelor's De-
gree in Business Administration. As a first generation college student, she strives for academic excellenc
every day, aiming to make the most of her education. Yesenia received several awards including a bi-lit-
eracy award from North Salinas High School, and she was on the CSUMB Dean's List spring 2012. Upo
completion of her degree, her career goal is to work in banking. She endeavors to have a positive impact
in her community through being a financial advocate for many families who do not know about finances.

Amanda E. Luckie is a graduate of Monterey High School with a GPA of 3.2. Amanda is part of the Arts
Careers Academy. She expresses an interest in becoming a pediatric nurse as a career goal. She is an ac-
tive volunteer in school and community and the Ord Military Chapel's Children's Church, Vacation Bible
School and holiday events and activities.
Jamie Mosana Mann is a graduate of Pacheco High School and has a current GPA of 3.1 - . .c" -
ation, Jamie plans on enrolling in Monterey Peninsula College to earn an Associate of Science degree
Biology. She will also enroll in Pre-Dental courses and at the same time, she will volunteer at a dentist
office to gain hands on experience. Her passion is dentistry and orthodontic care. She says. "Being

Mileena Mckelvey is a graduate of Salinas High School with a GPA of 3.6. Mileena has shown scno-
lastic ability, community involvement leadership and a great determination for success throughout her
high school career. Mileena is involved in athletics. She volunteers to coach young girls ages 8-14 for
the Salinas Storm Softball Organization, and she is a member of the Varsity Team. Mileena's other extra
curricular activities include volunteering for Feed the Homeless, The Links, Inc. Fashion Show, The Toro
Little League, The Apostolic Church, Monster Truck Rally and Camp Counselor. Mileena will attend San
Diego State University and major in psychology. After graduating from college, Mileena plans to become
a family counselor. She would like to help families stay together and realize that they have many options
to keep their families together.

Quentin A. Minor is a graduate of Everett Alvarez High in Salinas, CA. He is an outstanding student who
has opted to take some of the most difficult courses offered at his high school. Besides his excellent aca-
demic skills, Quentin is an outstanding musician and athlete. He plays in the school band and is known on
campus as one of the top members of the track team. Quentin is articulate, mature and committed to the
pursuit of a career in medicine. He is a young man of strong character who has demonstrated leadership
qualities throughout his high school years.

Sabrina Neal is a graduate of Seaside High school. While at Seaside High, she played four years of var-
sity basketball, she was a part of the school Leadership class and graduated as the senior class president.
Sabrina achieved a place on the high honor role for all four years, and graduated with a 4.1 GPA. Along
with her outstanding academics and athletics accomplishments, Sabrina has been a part of many organiza-
tions including AVID, the National Honor Society, the NAACP youth council, and Young Life. This fall
semester, Sabrina will attend CSU Long Beach to study political science and then will continue on to law
school. Friends call her "Michelle Obama".

Kyle Neely is a graduate of Monterey High School with a 3.9 GPA. He is interested in Oceanographic
Science and plans to major in Biomedical Engineering at the California Polytechnic University in San
Luis Obispo, California. Kyle has prepared himself academically by participating in various summer en-
gineering camps, high school shadowing events and leadership conferences. His extra curricular activities
include Varsity Basketball and Football which have taught him time management and leadership skills.
Recently, Kyle received the Kyle Neeley Coaches Award, an award given by all of the coaches in recogni-
tion of hard-work, leadership and commitment on the playing field as well as community involvement.
Kyle's goal after earning his degree is to pursue a Masters and then as a biomedical engineer, he would
like to invent or develop medical instruments that will help save lives.

Kala Renee Robinson is a graduate of Salinas High School, the middle child of three children, and res-
in Salinas with her parents. Kala has struggled to overcome a learning disability, succeeding through
work and a positive attitude to attain good grades. She loves volunteering and meeting new people.
high school, Kala served as link crew leader and mentoring freshmen. Kala believes her volunteer exoe
rience taught her to work well with others, and take care of the needs of others, especially those u
to care for themselves. She will attend Hartnell College for her nursing prerequisites, and transfer ~
university to major in Nursing, in her mother's footsteps.

Maria Sanchez is a dedicated graduate of Seaside High school with a GPA of 4.4. She plans to attend--
Davis where she will be majoring in Bio Chemistry and Molecular Biology. She then plans on attendizj
medical school and pursuing her goal to become an Orthopedic Surgeon. In addition to her acade
achievement, Maria wants to use her position as a doctor to raise awareness on diseases, and help her co
munity with bone marrow drives. Her standards are set high; she is confident she will reach her goal
conquer any challenges that should come her way.

Patricia Sosa grew up bilingual in Spanish and English, and is an American Sign Language interpreter £;
students at Monterey Peninsula College. While supporting herself as an ASL interpreter, she has further.
her education at MPC and plans to attend Brandman University in the fall. Her goal is to use her tri-ling
ability to work as a special education teacher for deaf and hearing impaired children. In her own wor
Patricia says, "I want to become a teacher and inspire my students to make the best out of their lives _
acquiring one of life's most prized possession: an education."

Janettia Williams was raised by her mother, with two older brothers. Her brothers were an inspiration an
taught her to stand her ground, and stand tall in the face of adversity. Janettia has Tourettes Syndrome
and has worked very hard to overcome earlier difficulties to achieve academic excellence. Janettia se
high expectations for herself and meets them. She raised her 2.5 GPA to 4.0 as a graduate of Seaside Hig
School. Janettia plans to become a Physical Therapist. This fall, she will attend MPC for two years in Pre-
Physical Therapy to prepare her bachelor's degree in the Kinesiology program at CSUMB.

Alanna M. Wright is a graduate of Salinas High with a 4.4 GPA. She is truly one of the best of the best

PSAT scores. In addition to her academic outstanding achievements, she has been a very active member or
many clubs, organizations and sport teams as well. Alanna also has a long history of volunteer communi _
