1st Six Weeks
_____Identify Hardware
      Use and understand functions and demonstrate proper handling of a variety of
      available technology ( diskette, CD-ROM, mouse, calculator computer, monitor,
      mouse button, keyboard, disk drive, touch screen, voice/sound recording)

_____ Use and understand common tools (eraser, pencil, line, shape tools, paint bucket)

____ Use Terminology
     Use appropriate terminology while using equipment, hardware and software
     (cursor, open, close, menu bar, trash can, hard drive icon, window, start button)

____ Keyboarding
     Use proper keyboarding techniques such as correct hand and body positions and
     smooth and rhythmic keystroke patterns as a grade-level appropriate (learn home-
      row keys)

       Start and exit programs –

       Use capitalization, punctuation and numbers

_____ Societal Issues/Ethics
      Understand concept of copyright in both published and personal work.

2nd Six Weeks

      punctuation, and symbol keys as grade-level appropriate.
      Operate keys needed in instructional applications (space bar, return, shift, option,
      arrows, caps, lock key)
       Use proper keyboarding techniques such as correct hand and body positions and
       smooth and rhythmic keystroke patterns as grade-level appropriate (learn home-
       row keys)


_____ Software (Word processing)
      Design page layout to include student name, line spacing and title.
      Use language skills including capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and spaces
      between words and sentences.

      Use networking terminology such as online, server, or spooling to the printer.
