 Nature and extent of involvement of faculty and students in
  academic affairs / improvements.
 CLASS COMMITTEE:
         The faculty and student representatives are encouraged to give suggestions
 on academic improvements during the Class Committee Meetings to be conducted
 at regular intervals in every semester.

 STUDENT GUILD OF SERVICE:
        Students in the wing of Student Guild of Service (SGS) are to be
 encouraged, involving themselves in the academic affairs and improvements.
    FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS:
              Faculty members are permitted to attend Faculty Development Programs

      Grievance redress mechanism for faculty, Staff and students
      DISCIPLINE AND WELFARE COMMITTEE:

               Discipline and Welfare Committee has been formed to look after the
       student discipline and welfare measures. Whenever there are some problems

    PLACEMENT FACILITIES:

   Even though our Institution is new born, we have a separate placement & Training
Cell with Placement Officer.

    Training and Placement Cell serves as bridge between the students and administration
of the campus. This centre assists the students in their pursuit of academic excellence,
ultimate employability, and challenging and stimulating environment. The various
objectives which are to be carried out by the centre is as follows:

XI.     CRITERIA AND WEIGHTAGES FOR ADMISSION

      Describe each criteria with its respective weightages i.e. Admission Test, marks in
       qualifying examination etc.

     Total marks obtained by the candidates in qualifying examination (Physics +
Chemistry + Mathematics) and the rank list prepared by the Anna University, Chennai
(as per the guidelines followed by Anna University for admitting candidates for
professional courses)

      Mention the minimum level of acceptance, if any.

              OC      :      Physics + Chemistry + Mathematics        :     50%
              BC      :      Physics + Chemistry + Mathematics        :     45%
              MBC :          Physics + Chemistry + Mathematics        :     40%
              SC/ST :        Physics + Chemistry + Mathematics        :     35%

             Mention the cut-off levels of percentage & percentile scores of the
              candidates in the admission test for the last two years.
                                    Maximum : 128.75 / 200
                                    Minimum : 094.75 / 200
             Display marks scored in Test etc. and in aggregate for all candidates
              who were admitted.
The marks scored in Test will be displayed in Anna University, Coimbatore Official
website (www.annauniv.ac.in)

        It is available in website www.tnsfconsortium.org. the college application form is
        available in our office, king college of technology, Namakkal.

XIII. LIST OF APPLICATIONS

       List of candidates whose applications have been received along with
percentile/percentage score for each of the examination in separate categories for open
seats. List of candidates who have applied along with percentage and percentile score
for Management quota seats.
       For open seats – the marks obtained by the candidate in qualifying examination
and the rank list prepared, followed by single window counseling by the Anna University
are selected. The lists of applications for open seats are as follows.

      It is new born Institution. The college is entered in to the Anna University single
window counseling system from the academic year 2007. The admission process is in
progress by Anna University. The list of applicant will be available after the last date
announced by Anna University.
       For MQ seats – The marks obtained by the candidates in qualifying examination
and the rank list prepared by Consortium of Self financing Professional, Arts and Science
Colleges in Tamilnadu, are selected.

DESIGN OF THE INSTRUCTIONAL SYSTEM
     Participants are derived into various forms of groups throughout the exercises.
Every group will be encouraged and guided to discover/bring to focus the learning points
outlined in the context. Each participant would be facilitated to absorb/internalize the
learning points in the manner and to extend required.

     Language Learning Center carries out three activities namely: Academic, extension,
and Consultancy services:

     Academic activities focus on Anna University’s Technical English syllabus for first
year engineering students.

     Coaching will offer for Cambridge University’s exams: Business English
Certificates (BEC) and IELTS; TOEFL and Spoken English.

     General lectures on communication English to Polytechnic and Community
Polytechnic students.

   Consultancy services include placement training to students of other colleges,
technical writing and spoken English to executives from the industries.

CENTRAL EXAMINATION FACILITY


       The Examination Cell will function effectively under the guidance and
administration of the Principal with the assistance of one experienced faculty & Three
supporting staff experienced faculty. This cell is set up to offer information to the
students pertaining to the examinations. The following activities are carried out by the
examination cell.

EXAMCELL ACTIVITIES
    Offering information to the student pertaining to University Theory and Practical
       Examination.
    Preparation of Tentative Schedules for both Continuous Assessment Test &
       Assessments.
    Conducting Continuous Assessment Test (CAT).
    Preparation of Progress report and sending information to the parents about the
       performance of students in CAT.
    Conducting University Practical & Theory Examinations.
    Sending internal marks and percentage of attendance of each student to university.
    Preparation of semester wise results and marks of each student with rank and
       division.

TEACHING LEARNING PROCESS


     The purpose education is to enhance the knowledge of the students to enhance their
awareness and develop skills to provide economic opportunities them. King College of
Technology, with its commitment to the society in general and students in particular,
strives to maintain a balance in the teaching learning process.

     The teaching-learning process in the college is a creative blend of effective
dissemination of information through interactive lectures by committed and well
prepared faculty members; well planned practical sessions in the state-of-the-art
laboratories and workshops; guided reading in the well stocked central library.

     The college and the faculty members strongly believe in the process of the
participatory learning. As a result, the students are encouraged to make use of their
intellectual freedom to interact with the teachers during the lecture and lab sessions and
after class hours so as to be free of academic doubts. In addition, the students are often
rewarded by simple means when they demonstrate originality in their thoughts and
performance.

To supplement the human efforts in knowledge dissemination, technology is used as a
supplementary pedagogic tool but not a substitute of human presence. Teachers use the
following pedagogic tools to ensure effective teaching learning process:

       Multimedia Power Point Presentation for Audio-visual sensory experience for
         better learning retention of information
       Over Head Projectors to break the monotony of chalk and talk lecture. It also
         reduces the teachers’ writing and drawing time on the blackboard, so as to
         concentrate on face to face interaction with the students.
       Email for easy and sure access to teachers to clarify doubts and share academic
         ideas
       Internet for gathering up-to-date academic information
       Finally the positive interpersonal relations through empathic counseling to the
         students with regard to their academic difficulties add a fine touch to the
         teaching learning process.

       INDIVIDUAL WORK LOAD FOR STAFFS

             It is new born institution, where the dept wise individual work load will commence
       from II semester only. Right now, the workload for the department wise individual will
       remain same as mentioned above



       INTERNAL CONTINUOUS EVALUATION SYSTEM AND PLACE

           The procedures for internal evolution are guided by the Anna University regulations,
       for UG programs in vogue from time to time. At present, the college follows regulations
       (2007) of the university, which says, that 50% of the marks are to be awarded as internal
       Assessment marks which amounts to 50 marks on a 100 marks scale.

       Students’ assessment of Faculty, System in place.


               We have a quality system procedure for evaluating the student Assessment of
       faculty. This is carried out through a Teaching Evaluation form given to all the students
       once a semester by the Principal.

               The evaluation form consists of a questionnaire comprising questions related to
       the competency of the faculty in handling the subject, additional support material given
       to the students, the evaluation practices adopted and the over all intention of the faculty
       with the students like encouragement to asking questions, motivation in improving the
       performance etc. The questions are graded on a 10 - point scale, 10 - being excellent and
1 - being very bad. Based on the feedback, revealed by the form, the satisfaction level of
the student is monitored both by the HOD and Principal. If there is any dissatisfaction,
corrective actions are taken in order to avoid repetition of the problem in future.

       For each post graduate programme give the following Title, Curriculum, Syllabi
& Faculty Profile

       B.E Mechanical Engineering & MBA we got approval from AICTE to start from
this academic year onwards. We follow the Anna University – Coimbatore syllabus.
