Development Services – Standard Operating Procedures Development Process – (Feature Driven Development)
This approach to development will allow for maximum production capacity. All developers will be working simultaneously on each and every project. Each project will be broken down into “features” then divided up among the developers. Each feature will have a specific deadline attached based on the project deadline. The following is the outline of how this process will flow. Day 0 Activity Sign off / GSA/Tech agreement received. (Accounting to email Development Manager when received). DSM to identify end of project date based upon 60 biz days; update Accounting with project end date Internal Kickoff meeting Within 5 biz days of payment & signed tech agreement Form the Project Team Conduct a project walkthrough with Project Team, Solutions Engineer and Account Manager, SEO Services Manager Build a Feature List Developed by the Project Team and approved by the Development Services Manager Plan by Feature Develop the sequence Set deadlines based on project timeline Assign features to team members Development Services Manager Develop Project Document – Detailed Feature List Adjust Project Timeline (Visio Gantt Chart) Set-up Project Site Discuss database structure and then document External Kickoff Meeting Required attendees include the Solutions Engineer, Account Manager, SEO Services Manager and the Development Services Manager; other project team members if necessary Discuss Features, Project Document, Timeline and Design (Look & Feel) Begin Draft Layout (Homepage and secondary page) Begin db structure Revise List and Notes Make necessary changes to project document and timeline Post to Project Site, send email with Project Site URL First Draft Layout Complete A homepage and secondary page to be designed Action List Email Template
