The ‘Strategies for Success at Swinburne’ program

The Faculty offers a unique week-long transition program for
new university students guided by our student adviser.

We understand that students commencing their studies at
university for the first time may experience some
apprehension about writing reports and essays and
preparing for exams and oral presentations.

The purpose of the program is to encourage confidence in
advanced reading and writing by developing skills in
 communicating in an academic environment.

Student Adviser / Academic Support Swinburne

Our free five-day intensive program is made up of lectures
and workshops designed to assist newly enrolled students
to:
    - Develop successful study techniques
    - Improve time management skills
    - Set realistic goals
    - Get the most out of lectures and tutorials
    - Plan and write essays and reports
    - Prepare for class presentations and exams

The program also aims to better equip students to become
more confident in developing their own learning
experiences, study habits and generate more self -
discipline.
