Since the establishment of its first European school in Greece in
1987,Global Education Alliance that is now known as Alpine Center,
Switzerland is presently expanding to Europe, Asia and the Middle
East. Alpine Center’s outstanding successful operation in Greece
over the last 25 years has captured the interest of many investors in
a number of countries where hospitality and tourism education is in
great demand as a result of recent tourism developments. It goes
without saying that quality higher education is paramount to the
sustainable success of an emerging tourism destination.

The tourism industry in India has out-performed the global tourism industry in terms of growth in the volume of
international tourists as well as in terms of revenue in recent years. The World Travel and Tourism Council
(WTTC) has named India, along with China, as one of the fastest growing tourism industries for the next 10 to 15
years.

The good news is that tourism is not only a growth engine but also an export growth engine and employment
generator. According to the Economic Survey 2011-12, the sector has capacity to create large-scale employment
both direct and indirect, for diverse sections in society, from the most specialized to unskilled workforce.

It is therefore not surprising that Alpine Center, Switzerland has been invited to contribute its expertise in
hospitality and tourism management higher education in a country where the tourism industry is booming and
with it the need for highly qualified and educated professionals. On the other hand, the world economy is
growing, and tourism continues to be one of the strongest vehicles in that growth, as it has usually been for
about half a century. One billion tourists will be travelling in the year 2012, according to the UNTO Secretary
General, thus creating jobs and stimulating the worldwide economy.

Alpine Center’s graduates are in leading positions all over the globe. Our rich portfolio of courses includes Hotel
Management, Culinary Arts, Travel & Tourism Management, Spa Management, Events & Conventions
Management, Hospitality & Cruise Ship Management, Yacht Operations Management, at the Certificate, Diploma,
undergraduate & postgraduate levels. At the Goa campus, Alpine Center will commence by offering two
programmes of study: a Swiss Diploma in Hospitality & Cruise Ship Management course, and a Swiss Higher
Diploma in Hotel Management with a concentration in Events & Conventions Management. Students aspiring to
continue their studies further may transfer to Greece to complete the requirements of a Bachelor’s or Master’s
degree in International Hospitality & Tourism Management or International Hospitality & Tourism Leadership,
respectively.

As President of International Collaborations, my role will be to assist Alpine Center, India in realizing their
mission to prepare individuals from India, and indeed from all over the world, for exciting and successful careers
in the thriving global hospitality and tourism industry!

                                                                                                 Yours sincerely

                                                                                            Sybil Hofmann FIH
                                                                                                       President,

AlpineSwiss Business Schools Pvt. Ltd, the registered company of Alpine Center, India is a branch of Alpine
Center, the Swiss Business School for Hotel & Tourism Management, Switzerland which was established in 1987.
We are specialized in the provision of tourism and hospitality management programmes and considered a leader
in the field. We enjoy very strong brand reputation and recognition in the industry, and attract a growing number
of international students.

What sets Alpine apart from other schools in this field is Alpine's strong professional ethos and industry links,
mainly stemming from its adoption of the Swiss philosophy of practical application. Offering schemes of study
validated by the University of Wales, UK, Edexcel and the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and
Lodging Association, Alpine commands a highly focused but also varied portfolio and is able to build on the
quality assurance procedures of each of its academic partners to deliver programmes that are both academically
robust and vocationally relevant.

Another important fact that makes Alpine a pioneer in the industry is the innovative programmes of study that we
have designed and developed over the years to meet market needs. Starting with hotel management at the
undergraduate and postgraduate level, Alpine added the following courses to its portfolio, making it one of the
few institutions offering education in practically all segments of the hospitality industry: culinary arts, events
and conventions management, spa management, hospitality and cruise ship management, yacht crew member
training and education, together with all the distance learning courses aimed at working individuals who are
unable to attend classes.

Alpine also benefits from the support of a very active and international Industry Advisory Board which meets
regularly to offer advice and market intelligence to Alpine's management and faculty, ensuring the currency of its
programmes. This strong relationship with the industry benefits Alpine's students in terms of, among others,
career and placement opportunities and with the arrangement of guest lectures and educational visits. The
above features are some of the aspects that have established Alpine as an leader within the Southeastern Europe
context. Alpine's graduates can be found in leading positions all over the globe which is in itself a testimonial to
the high quality of education offered.
