Domestic Violence Prevention Ambassadors project is a two-year project organized by
Chinese Canadian National Council Toronto Chapter, Chinese Family Services of Ontario,
Working Women Community Centre, and South Riverdale Community Health Centre.
This project is funded by the City of Toronto Community Safety Investment program.
This project aims at changing the traditional Chinese culture that regards domestic
violence as a shameful private business and promoting awareness of domestic violence in
Chinese Canadian Community. A DVD on Domestic Violence Prevention, based on true
stories of Chinese Canadian victims of abuse, will be developed by Ambassadors in
training Phase II.

Phase I: Training Workshop
• Definition of Domestic Violence
• Police officer explain Domestic
Violence Case process
• Legal aspect of Domestic Violence Phase II: Public Education DVD
• Community Resources, basic All participates will take part in
helping skills DVD production activity as director,
• Case study and role-play Scriptwriter, actor, actress, editor
and spoke person.
A Certificate will be presented if participants finish both phases. It is free. Childcare
services and TTC tokens will be provided. Light food will be served during the sessions.
