                        Check safety gear per Survey Certificate in place and operable
                        Ensure EPRIB is in place and operable
                        Communication device specified in JHA in place
                        Check fuel and oil levels
                        Check location and operation of electrical system (battery
                        isolator, bilge pump, running lights and spare fuses
                        Ensure all technical equipment present and securely stowed
                        Start engine, allow to warm-up and ensure running smoothly
                        Navigational gear, steering equipment and engine controls
                        checked and operable
                        VHF call to Coastal Patrol with sailing plan and passenger
                        numbers
                        Ensure all personnel wearing correctly fitted PFDs as specified
                        in JHA
                        Vessel Record Book on board
