Capital West Advisors reveals its investment capital introduction strategy. Capital West Advisors maintains approximately 900 venture capital and 100 angel network contacts, of which, Capital West Advisors has characterized each and every contact in terms of the investment range, industry focus, growth stage, and geographic areas that each VC firm and Angel Network firm looks at. For every capital introduction client, Capital West Advisors will screen every member of its investment capital database to identify whether or not this firm or network’s investment criteria matches the parameters of your business model. Capital West Advisors then develops a letter of investment of consideration which will accompany the business plan and/or executive summary that we submitted individually to each contact via electronic mail. A Capital West Advisors associate follows up extensively for a period of 2-3 months with each and every investment contact to basically ensure that the associate or partner has reviewed the business plan and to give a 30 second investor pitch regarding your business. Capital West Advisors believes that it is important to develop a solid capital raising strategy which includes enough venture capital firms and angel networks to not only garner substantial interest, but ideally garner interest from at least 3 parties, which is why we typically recommend companies to submit their business plans to at least 50 venture capital firms and/or 10 angel networks. The key factors that a venture capital firm tends to look at include strength and experience of the management team, value proposition of the product or service, strength and growth rate of the market, key industry relationships, intellectual property, lack of competition, a history of success (for existing businesses), and a solid business plan. Capital West Advisors has a very strong management team which represents over 50 years of collective experience raising capital, performing business planning, and strategic growth & financial consulting.
