Responsibility
Computer user accounts are for personal use only. User account owners are themselves responsible for their use. All users should regularly check their email in-trays and keep up-to-date with all relevant messages.
Measures and Supervision
The system administrator reserves the right without prior notice during the course of regular maintenance procedures to supervise network traffic through technical measures in the network and system. If it is suspected that someone has broken the rules, this supervisory right will be extended to include all data stored by the individual user. The system administrator reserves the right in the case of disruption to normal network operations or alternatively having good grounds for suspicion of a breach of regulations to temporarily suspend access to individual and collective resources. Repeated or serious breach of these regulations can lead to being banned from access to computer resources and / or being reported to the respective disciplinary / personnel responsibility committee.
Use of Computer and Computer Network Resources
Copyright should be respected at all times. It is not permitted to unlawfully download or transfer copyrightprotected material such as software, films, music or other items covered by copyright legislation. Users of computer access cards should not engage in disruptive activities. Disruptive activities include any activity which can affect the functionality and security of the University’s or any other organisation’s computer resources. It is not permitted for individuals to install software themselves on University computers without the permission of the maintenance technicians. It is not permitted to connect privately-owned computers or other equipment other than to the network(s) specially set aside for this very purpose. It is permitted only to a limited extent to use University resources for private purposes such as checking private email, surfing on the Internet for leisure / entertainment purposes or similar activities. Teaching and study should always take preference in computer and project rooms.

Ethics
Surfing to unethical or unsuitable websites is not permitted unless work assignments, research activities or studies specifically require it. Unsuitable websites include websites with pornographic content or content involving violence, websites specializing in illegal copying, computer encroachment or development of harmful software together with sites with extreme political content. Visiting so-called casino and gambling sites (such as net poker and similar games involving financial stakes) are not permitted from within the University’s network.
LUT – SET – –
When you have been registered for your programme of studies / individual course(s) and have paid your student union membership fee you will receive your student ID card, computer identity information and University email address. Your computer identity is in the form of a user code and password which gives you access to the University’s computer rooms and facilities. Your student ID card also gives you electronic door access.

All official email from the University will be sent to your University email address. You can forward your email to another address via the email system. Login to your email account at: http://mail.student.hh.se
IT-Support / Helpdesk
If you have a problem with computer programmes in connection with your studies, you should initially contact the lecturer responsible for the course. If the lecturer is unable to solve the problem, the fault should be reported to the Helpdesk at http://helpdesk.hh.se (Selfservice). From the Helpdesk website (www.hh.se/english/helpdesk) you can also get hold of tips, keep yourself updated with computer maintenance and network information and find a list of answers to frequently asked questions. You can also report matters relating to the premises, telephone connections, security, printerns etc. via Helpdesk. A staffed helpdesk can be found in the library, first floor, where you, for example, can receive assistance if you have forgotten your password.

Select ”HP ....” or ”Ricoh ...” as printer. You can pick up your printout at any printer of the selected type. Enter your user id and password at the code box. To print – select ”Print - Enter - Print”. If you have multiple printouts you can select any of them by using the arrows. The newest printout is at the bottom of the list. Copying and Scanning The Ricoh can also be used as a copying machine and a scanner. Wireless Network with Encryption at the University
The network is called ”hh-student” and is available all over campus. You do not need to register to use ”hh-student” but you must configure your computer. You find the configuration at http://helpdesk.hh.se.
Printing System for Students
payment Payment for printouts is done in advance via internet payment (Visa / Eurocard / Mastercard). Logon to helpdesk.hh.se to check your balance and to make payments. Minimum transaction is SEK 50, a fee of SEK 4 is added on every order. The University Library accepts cash payment. No refund is possible. There are two different types of printers in the printing system. • HP 4250 dtn (black-and-white, A4). • Ricoh 3235C printer / copier / scanner with optional colour.
