Period: Monday October 18, 2004 to Sunday October 24, 2004 The Weekly Security Incident Log is circulated electronically as part of the Department of Security, Parking & Transportation’s ongoing effort to provide information about incidents occurring on campus to promote awareness and provide pro-active crime prevention information to reduce the opportunity of crime. There were no signs of forced entry to the offices. 9:48 A.M Security responded to report of an individual who felt ill. The individual was located and declined medical attention as the illness had subsided. 11:45 A.M Complainant reported damage to a soccer field. Cause of the damage was from one or more vehicles driving on the grass.

The injury was treated on scene, and further medical attention was declined. 5:49 P.M Complainant reported the theft of a purse from the cafeteria.

9:24 P.M A motorist, who failed to stop, struck a vehicle stopped at a pedestrian crosswalk. There were no injuries and only minor damage to both vehicles. 12:11 A.M A motorist lost control of a vehicle and struck a bus shelter bench and concrete garbage container. 10:15 A.M Complainant reported that while exiting the parking garage, another motorist tailgated behind in order to exit without making payment. A license plate number was obtained. 10:16 A.M Complainant reported that while exiting the parking garage, another motorist tailgated behind in order to exit without making payment. A license plate number was obtained 11:15 A.M Complainant reported damage to his vehicles wheel after traveling over a speed bump. 1:24 P.M Security and Toronto Fire responded to a fire alarm. Cause of the alarm was determined to be false activation of a pull station.

3:35 P.M Complainant reported damage to the windshield of a vehicle while parked in the lot. Footprints were observed on the hood, accompanied by several dents and scratches. 5:00 P.M Three vehicles traveling in the same direction on Ian MacDonald Blvd were involved in a collision when the lead vehicle stopped suddenly. The third vehicle failed to stop and struck the middle vehicle forcing it to collide with the stopped vehicle. Minor injuries were reported 8:45 P.M Security observed a group of individuals seated at a picnic table in a wooded area outside the college. Security approached the group and observed a handgun on the table, which was later determined to be toy pellet gun. 9:11 P.M Security and EMS responded to report of an individual who fainted while involved in physical activities. The individual was treated on scene by EMS. 11:30 P.M Security observed an altercation in progress. Toronto Police responded and separated the combatants. There were no injuries reported. The individuals involved were directed to leave campus. 1:50 A.M Complainant reported being surrounded by a group of individuals while walking on Founders Circle. A few worded were exchanged and the victim was struck from behind with a rock. EMS treated the injury.

3:05 P.M Complainant reported the theft of 5 textbooks from a secure locker. It appeared that the pad lock had been tampered with or forced open. 9:16 P.M Two community members reported two unknown males lifted the gate at Tim Horton's and removed the donation change box from the counter. The community members stopped them as they attempted to flee. The donation box was returned to Tim Horton’s staff. 10:28 P.M Two community members reported being approached by two unknown males. One of the males asked for a cigarette and when declined, they were assaulted. The suspects took the package of cigarettes and fled the area. 10:52 P.M Security located damage to washroom facilities. Unknown persons tore a soap dispenser from the wall and smashed the base of the washing fountain. 1:23 A.M A TTC bus operator reported an unknown group of individuals threw a beer bottle at a bus and fled the scene.
