Dear Investigator: Over the last several months NYU Langone Medical Center – Tisch Pharmacy, including the Investigational Pharmacy, has been reviewing its business processes and available resources to better meet the needs of those we serve while meeting all appropriate standards for pharmacy management. As part of this process we reviewed the Investigational Pharmacy Fee Schedule. Our evaluation showed that this fee schedule was no longer reflective either of the cost of resource allocation by our department or of fair market value. In addition to examining our own process and costs, the review involved contacting other institutions and comparing our schedules to theirs. As a result of this review, we have developed a revised schedule, attached, which we believe is reflective of current industry standards as well as our own costs. Effective July 1, 2009, all new Clinical Trials involving Investigational Drugs, whether Foundation, Cooperative Group, Grant or Industry funded – new applications or those involving sponsor budget/contract negotiation must use the new fee schedule for Investigational Pharmacy services. For grants or trials already awarded or already submitted pending award, the former fee schedule shall apply but only until the next renewal application or revision. Industry sponsored or supported clinical trials that are already approved by the Investigational Pharmacy are NOT subject to the revised fee schedule nor are those with a budget/contract already executed – as we will honor previously agreed upon fees. All newly presented Industry projects should reflect the revised fee structure.
