Official Rules
Anyone who is a high school senior and a legal resident of the United States and meets the eligibility requirements set forth below may compete in the International Academy of Design and Technology High School “Fashion Forward” Fashion Design contest (the “Scholarship Contest”), sponsored by FashionDiner.com(“Sponsors”). Each entrant will submit an original sketch and fabric samples to a local IADT campus of their choice (Chicago, IL, Sacramento, CA, Schaumburg, IL, Seattle, WA, Las Vegas, NV, Nashville, TN, Tampa, FL, Orlando, FL, San Antonio, TX and Detroit, MI). One winner (the“Local Winner”) from each campus will be chosen and will receive a $5,000 scholarship good at any IADT campus. The Local Winners will complete their garments based on their submitted specifications and have them worn in the IADT Chicago IMAGINE fashion show on May 21, 2009. Local Winners will then be entered into the national competition with a chance to win a full tuition scholarship to any of our IADT campuses. Local Winners will also receive a 3 day, 2 night expense paid trip along with VIP access to the IADT Chicago IMAGINE fashion show in Chicago. This is a skill contest. There is no purchase or payment necessary to enter or win. The Local Winners will be determined by a panel of judges based on the quality of the sketch, fabric samples and inspiration statement that best demonstrate their desire to become a fashion designer. The national winner will be determined by a panel of judges, based on the quality of the finished garment, how well it translated the winning sketch and the quality and detail of the Process Book. Please follow the instructions below for physical submission of materials and entrant eligibility. The deadline for submission is March 25, 2009 at 11:59 p.m. local standard time of the IADT campus of your choice. See below for address of each campus, or go to www.FashionDiner.com for the addresses of the local campuses involved and to download application materials. NATIONAL WINNERS The National Winner will be awarded a full scholarship in lieu of the $5,000 scholarship awarded to National Runner Ups and Remaining Local Winners to cover tuition at any of the IADT campuses. The winning garment will be featured in the IADT Chicago IMAGINE fashion show, and the National Winner will receive an expense paid trip to Chicago for the fashion show not to exceed the value of $1,000. The National Winner will also receive a 3 day, 2 night expense paid trip to New York City in October 2009 not to exceed the value of $1,500 and free admittance to participate in the three-day Teen Vogue Fashion University. The garment of the National Winner will also be featured in an IADT advertisement in the September 2009 issue of Teen Vogue magazine. Two National Runner Ups will be awarded a $5,000 scholarship to cover tuition at any of the IADT campuses, have their garment featured in the IADT Chicago IMAGINE fashion show, and receive an expense paid trip to Chicago for the fashion show not to exceed the value of $1,000. The two National Runner Ups will each also receive a 3 day, 2 night expense paid trip to New York City in October 2009 not to exceed the value of $1,500 and free admittance to participate in the three-day Teen Vogue Fashion University. REMAINING LOCAL WINNERS Each of the remaining Local Winners will be awarded a $5,000 scholarship to cover tuition at any of the IADT campuses (Chicago, IL, Sacramento, CA, Schaumburg, IL, Seattle, WA, Las Vegas, NV, Nashville, TN, Tampa, FL, Orlando, FL, San Antonio, TX, and Detroit, MI - see below for campus addresses), have their winning garment featured in the IADT Chicago IMAGINE fashion show, and receive an expense paid trip to Chicago for the fashion show not to exceed the value of $1,000.

ELIGIBILITY This Scholarship Contest is open to all legal residents of the United States who are high school seniors with an expected graduation date prior to December 31, 2009. Void where prohibited. Employees of Career Education Corporation ("CEC") and its schools and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter. Entrants may only submit one entry to the original campus; only the first entry will be considered. Later entries will be disregarded. The IADT scholarship that is awarded does not have to be used at the chosen local campus where the entry was submitted to. DEADLINES All entries must be submitted physically to a local IADT campus (see list below) or received in the mail no later than March 25, 2009 at 11:59 p.m. local standard time of the IADT campus of your choice. The first round of judging will be completed by April 1, 2009 and the Local Winners from each campus will be notified by email, regular mail or telephone on that day. Local Winners will have until May 14, 2009 at 4:59 p.m. Chicago standard time to get their finished garments to IADT Chicago. The second round of judging will be completed by May 21, 2009 and the National Winners will be notified in person at the IMAGINE fashion show. Each scholarship winner must begin his/her degree at the IADT campus of their choice by December 31, 2009. If the scholarship offer is not accepted by that date, it will be rescinded. Garment Details

ENTRY PREPARATION The entry must include: • Completed garment detail sheet which includes a short inspiration statement about the original garment featured in the sketch (not to exceed 75words) • Original 11”x 14”sketch and sample fabric swatches – see sketch requirements • Completed persona and work release form

Sketch Requirements

To enter, you must fulfill all general contest guidelines outlined at www.FashionDiner.com. By entering, you agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of all of the judges, which are final and binding in all respects. Limit one entry per person. SUBMISSION PROCEDURE To enter, submit your application materials noted above to your local campus. You also may mail the application materials to the local campus’address to the attention of“Fashion Forward: IADT Aspiring High School Fashion Designers Competition”. All entries must be in English and must be the original work of the entrant. You can download the entry format from www.FashionDiner.com. Neither CEC, IADT campuses, FashionDiner.com or any of their subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively, "Sponsor") are responsible for any lost, mutilated, illegible or delayed application materials, whether deposited directly or sent via U.S. postal mail to the local campus. Entries that do not comply with these Official Rules will be disqualified. Local Winners will be asked to submit a finished, originally designed garment product based on specifications provided by IADT. In addition to the finished garment, local winners must also submit a Process Book to be compiled in an 8-1/2" x 11" binder, which is your design process summary, from original idea to finished product. The book should include: 1. A written summary of your overall concept. 2. A summary of influences on your entry, including designers or specific forms of entertainment 3. Sketches, illustrations, photographs, or digital images of your project as it evolved from concept to completion. 4. A written summary of people that you contacted for information about your project, including the advice they provided and its influence on you. This garment must be your original work. However, your finished product may be manufactured by an outside source. Sponsor acknowledges that all applicants may not have the same accessibility to materials needed to complete a finished product. As such, unfinished garments may be submitted. However, a completed product will enhance your entry. Your entry will not be returned unless agreed upon by IADT. JUDGING PROCESS The contest will consist of a two round judging process conducted as follows:

First Round for Local Winners: The first round judging is conducted by a panel of IADT faculty and employees at each local campus. The judging panel will select each local winner based on the collective submission of the participant’s artwork and inspiration statement on April 1, 2009. The local winners selected will move to the national round of judging and will be notified by e-mail, telephone or mail. Second Round for National Winner: The second round judging is conducted by a national panel of IADT faculty and employees. The judging panel will select the National Winner and the two runner-ups based on the quality of the finished garment, how well it translated the winning sketch and the quality and detail of the Process Book. The National Winner and runner ups will be notified at the Chicago IMAGINE fashion show on May 21, 2009. IADT and CEC reserve the right to cancel, postpone or end the Scholarship Contest at any time, at their sole discretion, or to disqualify any participant or winner that IADT, at its sole discretion, deems to have cheated, destroyed, obstructed, or otherwise acted illegally or in bad faith in relation to this contest.

OBLIGATIONS OF WINNERS In order to use the scholarship, the prospective student scholarship winners must submit an application to IADT, and such application must be accepted by the local IADT campus. In addition, the scholarship winners must (a) complete his/her program of study within 150% of standard program length and (b) maintain satisfactory academic progress. The scholarship will be suspended in quarters when the student's cumulative grade-point average falls below 2.0. If a scholarship winner fails a course, he/she will have to pay for the retake of that course. Each scholarship winner must begin his/her degree at the IADT campus of their choice by December 31, 2009. Each Local Winner will need to have their garment made based on specifications provided by IADT so that it can be featured in the IADT Chicago IMAGINE fashion show. The local winners will be required to have the garment completed and submitted to IADT Chicago by May 14, 2009. The garment may be made by an outside source.

OBLIGATIONS OF ENTRANTS By participating in this Contest, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules. By entering the Contest, each entrant releases/consents to (i) the use of his/her submission in the promotion of the Contest and/or IADT (ii) have an admission representative contact the entrant by phone/email/mail regarding IADT; and (iii) placement on the email list for IADT. ENTRY MATERIALS All work submitted must be the original work of the entrant. Illegible, incomplete, forged, plagiarized, mutilated or altered entries will not be accepted. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. In submitting an entry, all entrants agree to a release permitting IADT and CEC to use the art work for promotional purposes. Winners and/or the winners must be prepared to submit their original work upon request. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY Sponsor is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Web site users, tampering, hacking or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or used in the Scholarship Contest. Sponsor is not responsible for injury or damage to participants' or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating in this Scholarship Contest or downloading materials to or from the Web site or use of the Web site. By entering this Contest, an entrant explicitly releases, discharges and holds IADT, FashionDiner.com, CEC and its schools and their respective affiliates, parent companies, agents, subsidiaries, successors and assigns and all their respective shareholders, directors, officers and employees, one and all, from any and all liability, actions, causes of action, damages, actual, incidental or consequential, claims and demands whatsoever in law or equity, including all "costs", which he/she now has or may acquire, by reason of any loss of or damage to property, or any reason, occurring during or arising out of his/her participation in the Scholarship Contest. By accepting a prize, winner waives the right to 1) assert as a cost of winning the prize any and all costs of verification and redemption or travel to redeem said prize, and 2) claim any liability (including attorney's fees and costs)which might arise from redeeming or seeking to redeem said prize (including any travel related thereto). Sponsor and its officers, directors, affiliates, related entities, partners, partnerships, principals, representatives, agents, licensees, successors and assigns (i) make no warranty, guarantee or representation of any kind concerning the prizes; and (ii) disclaim any implied warranty, including but not limited to the warranty of merchant ability or fitness for a particular purpose. OTHER CONDITIONS The Scholarship Contest administration and verification will be supervised by CEC and IADT whose decisions are final. The $5,000 and full scholarships awarded by IADT do not have to be used at the local IADT campus where the entry was submitted to but are portable and can be used at any IADT campus. The scholarships are not redeemable for cash and may not be used to finance other programs offered by IADT. The scholarship covers tuition only for full-time study, may not be applied against books, fees, software, or program supplies, and may not be transferred between affiliate schools of the CEC family of schools. In the event education is terminated either by the student or IADT, the winner’s scholarship becomes null and void; any future quarter scholarship dollars not used will be revoked and will not be available upon re-entry. The scholarships are not transferable and may not be redeemed for cash or credit. In addition, the winners are responsible for any and all taxes that may be due as a result of receiving any prizes under this Scholarship Contest. This Scholarship Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. Void where prohibited. Any dispute arising out of this Scholarship Contest shall be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. The exclusive venue for any dispute arising out of this Scholarship Contest shall be a court of competent jurisdiction in Cook County, State of Illinois. OTHER Note that if you plan on pursuing your degree, you should not plan to finance your education by anticipating a scholarship. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.
